Zeke Durden

edit

I moved Zeke Durden to Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Zeke Durden because you put the Articles for creation submission template on the article and it was not quite ready for prime time.

You added the submission in the "draft" state, which means it will not be reviewed. I think it's a great topic, but it needs some cleanup with the formatting and a few things need citations or readers will say to themselves "oh yeah, I don't believe it." I am also concerned that about 1/3 of the references are from "the horse's mouth" and Wikipedia prefers "secondary" sources rather than "primary" sources for most things. See reliable sources. If you are ready to submit it, please do so. If you need help cleaning it up, please drop me a note at User talk:Davidwr. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 22:34, 29 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

I should have been clearer. Many of the references are proofs of existence but not demonstrations of notability. See Wikipedia:Reliable sources to see what kinds of sources are considered useful in supporting notability. Also, at least as of a few minutes ago, the following references have issues:

I have done some reference-formatting and found two places that need citations. I have also found a copyright issue with one of the images, which requires me to make it so it will not show up in the image while it is under review. Please go to your Commons talk page and read my comments about the image. I will probably leave further review to other reviewers. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 00:21, 19 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Regarding the Adult Swim image, I think that a single, low-res still image from a video, in the context of a discussion of that video, constitutes fair use. The use is transformative, the amount and substantiality of the copyrighted work that the image represents is low, and the image has no effect on the market value of the copyrighted work. I don't know how to move the other image from Commons to fair use, if it is appropriate to do that. AshtarSheran/(talk)/(contribs)

Save a copy of the "Adult Swim" image on your computer. In the draft article provide a link to someplace on the web that has that image. Then when the article is created, start a discussion on its talk page asking if there is any legal way we can upload the image to Wikipedia as a Fair Use image. Please read WP:FAIRUSE first though - my hunch is the answer will be "no" and, after reading that page, you may want to drop the issue rather than bring it up. I have nominated both of your commons contributions (commons:Special:Contributions/AshtarSheran) for deletion due to copyright issues. The other image you uploaded is a no-brainer FAIRUSE image provided it is shrunk to an appropriate size. Note that it is rare for an article to qualify for more than a single fair-use image. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 17:43, 20 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
