Speedy deletion nomination of Christopher Nixon edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Christopher Nixon requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. reddogsix (talk) 01:02, 1 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Christopher Nixon edit

Hello Ashlon-Returns,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Christopher Nixon for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Ishdarian 20:13, 1 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Christopher Nixon, to Wikipedia, as doing so is not in accordance with our policies. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read Wikipedia:Your first article; you might also consider using the Article Wizard. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. You must provide reliable sources that show that Nixon is a notable person before he may have an article. —C.Fred (talk) 03:21, 3 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Another administrator has already deleted the article, but here's what I was about to post on its talk page.

To be clear, then, here are the article's two fatal flaws:

  1. It does not make an assertion of significance or importance that is anywhere near sufficient to meet WP:BIO.
  2. It does not cite any reliable secondary sources.

YouTube subscriber counts aren't generally a good measure of notability; however, 300 users and 75k views is low enough to raise serious questions about whether he can be notable for his web work.

What would help the article to stick is if it cited newspaper stories, magazine articles, and the like written about Nixon and covering him in depth. —C.Fred (talk) 03:45, 3 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Also, I just saw your user page, and it confirmed what I thought about you being Nixon. It's a bad idea to write an article about yourself. —C.Fred (talk) 03:52, 3 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
