User:Ashik Sahadath edit

I notice you've started this page with the "User:Ashik Sahadath", and your username is AshikSaha. I suggest either moving the content to your actual user page (User:AshikSaha). That user "Ashik Sahadath" is not registered and there shouldn't be a userpage for a non-existent user. If you wish to change your username, visit Wikipedia:Changing username. If you have questions and/or concerns, please ask me at my talkpage. SwisterTwister talk 06:40, 24 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

I removed the protection tag from the userpage because only administrators can protect pages. Pages will only be protected when the user page has been vandalised. If you want the username Ashik Sahadath, please visit Wikipedia:Changing username prior to filing a request at Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations. Username Change Request edit

Per your request on my talk page, please answer the following 2 questions for me:

  1. What do you want your NEW username to be?
  2. Why do you want your username changed?

Please provide answers for these 2 questions below, and I will file the request on your behalf as soon as I can. AndrewN talk 09:13, 24 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

ClockC The request has been filed. Please watch this page, as well as your talk page for questions or trouble that may arise from your request. AndrewN talk 09:30, 24 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
The request has been filed. You must wait for someone to review the request and make the change. Only a few users, known as Bureaucrats, have permission to change usernames. All other users can do is ask them nicely to do so, as I have done.
On another note, please try and keep discussion centralized to 1 talk page. Just click Edit, and reply on this page, so that the discussion is all in one place. I will know if you reply to me, because I am watching this page. AndrewN talk 09:44, 24 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Eva Carneiro edit

The article Eva Carneiro has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Speedy deletion nomination of Eva Carneiro edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Eva Carneiro, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Night of the Big Wind talk 18:11, 25 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Good article? edit

Would you mind explaining this edit? ~Adjwilley (talk) 01:00, 19 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • Also on Radamel Falcao García: please don't reinsert that verbose, excessive detail. Not everything someone has done is relevant--individual goals are rarely relevant. Also, singing the praises of the subject is not the job of an encyclopedia. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 16:20, 19 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Invite to the African Destubathon edit

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:14, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Date of birth edit

Hi. I notice that you have your exact date of birth posted on your user page. This can be used by identity thieves and other people with malicious intentions. I advise you to consider removing it, or give just the year. Happy editing! Rehman 01:01, 29 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Wikimedia Community User Group Sri Lanka edit

Dear AshikSaha,

Thank you for your contributions to the Wikimedia Projects. As an editor from Sri Lanka, you are warmly invited to join the official Wikimedia Community User Group Sri Lanka and to subscribe to its mailing list, Wikimedia-LK.

The user group currently includes volunteers from Wikipedia and other projects, from the English, Sinhala, and Tamil speaking communities. It is the Wikimedia-approved platform for editors from Sri Lanka to enable wider collaboration, for both online and offline projects.

With your support, we hope to organize cross-project content improvement drives as part of online projects, as well as organize in-person edit-a-thons, training sessions, photowalks, and other such activities, in the near future. The ultimate goal(s) of these initiatives is to improve the overall coverage and quality of topics relating to Sri Lanka, as well as encourage new editors to join the Wikimedia community, while simultaneously empowering and retaining our existing team of editors.

There are no mandatory obligations for members who choose join the community, other than the usual editing rules for online projects, and the friendly space policy for in-person projects. You may also (or instead) subscribe to the mailing list, where any member could initiate discussions with volunteers across projects, notify members of events and meetings, stay up to date with competitions, organize your own events, and so on.

See you on board, and Happy Editing!
