Marc With a C‎

I have nominated Marc With a C‎ for speedy deletion. (crossed paths!)

There is no assertion of notability in the article. It is not referenced. Also, I believe that only administrators can remove speedy deletion templates (or the editor who placed it). -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 06:51, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

After reading exchanges between you and user Alan_Liefting, it appears that your concern is that the article states "remains a fixture on college radio" and this fact cannot be confirmed via Google search. If that is the case, am I correct in assuming that your concerns would be satisfied by removing the words "remains a fixture on college radio," or by some documented source confirming that Marc's music is, in fact, played on the radio? You're referring to the line "the article in question must actually document that the criterion is true. It is not enough to make vague claims in the article or assert a band's importance," meaning there is no documented proof that his songs are played on college radio. Is this correct? Better yet, let me ask you these questions: What is your exact concern with this article? What changes do you feel should be made to keep this guy's page from being deleted? I would have less to assume if you would answer my questions directly, and we can confirm that we are on the same page. Since radio stations do not post their playlists on the internet, there is no documented proof to the statement "remains a fixture on college radio." Okay, I edited the article stating that his music is played on the college radio station WPRK. If you go to the WPRK website and search, several of his songs will come up. Secondly, he was recently featured on a compilation album. The album is a tribute to The Lemonheads entitled 'Squealing Fans tribute to Lemonheads - It's A Shame About Ray' (download only). If you search Wikipedia for "The Lemonheads" and scroll to the bottom, under the heading "Tributes" you will find the album. In addition to Heading 1, Point 11 being clarified, the compilation should also satisfy Heading 1, Point 10. With these two points in mind, I ask that you reconsider the deletion. Certainly, the website is www.wprkdj.org and the "Search Playlists" button is on the right side, about 1/2 way down the screen. Click the button, then on the left under "Search Playlists" you can type in "Marc with a C" and select "Artist," then search. It should bring up quite a generous list of his material. I've typed the instructions very plainly, and in case there might have been any confusion, I don't think I can simplify them any further. The compilation is being promoted by the band (The Lemonheads) on their website. How is that "unofficial and separate to the band"? So you're telling me that because the compilation does not specifically say "official release" on it, that means that the band has absolutely no idea that it is in production and being sold through their own website? Are you serious? They are promoting it! They are selling it! They are backing this project! I'm really trying to work with you here, but it seems as if you're playing this silly game where you only give me tiny pieces of information and string me along all night. Seriously, what is your issue with Marc, and why are you being so adamant about the whole thing? I've stayed up for 5 hours trying to make this right. The very least you could do is give me quality input on what I can do to help instead of these "eh, whatever" responses. You seem to care enough about Wikipedia to spend a great deal of time correcting and deleting things. 2. Restoration literature involves early Modern English, and the name of Walton's book was, indeed, "The Compleat Angler," just as Charles Cotton wrote The Compleat Gamester."

Targetting

Thanks for trying to help with the Ecole Polytechnique article, but "Targetting" is not a typo: it is a fine Canadian spelling of the word! This is the second time in a week that this has been done using AWB. This is not about numbers of google hits, but about regional varieties of English. Please see WP:ENGVAR for more information on the way WP deals with this issue.
