April 2016 edit

Hello, I'm Ahunt. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the page Air taxi, because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. - Ahunt (talk) 01:16, 24 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to Air taxi. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Donner60 (talk) 01:29, 24 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

I am striking my message because I think two messages for this are not necessary. I think you may not have known the problem with the edit. Your first edit added what appears from the link to be a legitimate company. Your second edit, which I reverted, neither had a reference in proper form or linked to an article about the company, which all the other companies listed seem to have. Since I did not see the first edit, without a link or a reference, the addition could have been to a non-existent company. Your first edit was probably reverted because of the direct link to the company web site. That would appear to be advertising. While it is possible the list needs to include only companies with Wikipedia articles, if you added the company name with the web site listed as a reference and not a link, it might be acceptable. It might be borderline, however, and another editor might see it differently and still view it as straight advertising unless a short, well-constructed, neutral article were added about the company, similar to the articles on the other companies.
Not to overwhelm you but here are some links to other pages with useful information that can help you in editing and writing for Wikipedia. You will see repetition of the five links shown above but I did not think it good to break up this list for that reason.

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages (but not article edits) by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. Thank you. Donner60 (talk) 00:54, 25 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
