A little clarity and just the facts, please! edit

Dear Artjc4429:

While reading over your article, I came to the following text, and I am having difficulty in understanding it:

DeSouza’s interest in movement and place has involved a significant involvement with memory in his work.[11][12] Often the working of time figures not only as an aspect of content in deSouza’s work, but also as a crucial part of his creative process.

Do you mean:

DeSouza’s interest in movement and (position? or location? pace? places? ) has led to a significant involvement with memory in his work.[11][12] Often the (passage? effects?) of time figures not only as an aspect of content in deSouza’s work, but also as a crucial part of his creative process.

The article contains a number of passages such as the one above which are very subjective. It reads more like promotional text for an art show than an encyclopedia article. Wikipedia articles are not supposed to contain any opinions of the writer of the article, only facts. If any opinions are included, they should be specifically related to a particular photography expert, art reviewer, etc.; for example "XXX, of YYY magazine, described deSouza's work as ______"

Your article is near the top of the review list; I hope that you will take the above comments into consideration and make a few changes before the review happens. —Anne Delong (talk) 03:26, 11 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
