Speedy deletion nomination of Pre-Columbian Native American cuisine edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Pre-Columbian Native American cuisine requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.  Masum Ibn Musa  Conversation 12:08, 13 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Mentor edit

Hi Artheartsoul-- just wanted to check in to see if you're still interested in being matched to a mentor? I, JethroBT drop me a line 18:29, 17 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your response. We can use your talk page here to have a discussion from here on out-- I'll be putting it on my watchlist. If you want to notify me directly, you can write {{ping|I JethroBT}} and then sign your name using four tildes ~~~~ at the end, which will send me a notification. What can I help you with? I, JethroBT drop me a line 18:36, 22 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

@I JethroBT: Hi! Well, there's a lot. I'm a complete newbie. Let's start with some basics on talk pages? Artheartsoul1 (talk) 03:03, 30 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

No problem-- we can just take things one at a time. The nice thing about editing here is that there are no deadlines, so you can take your time getting started. Here are a couple of things to keep in mind about talk pages:
  • All pages on Wikipedia, whether you're looking at an article or a userpage or an editing policy/guideline page have some kind of associated talk page. You can always use those pages to get in touch with other editors, often to ask a question, suggest a change, or bring up a concern.
  • When two editors are having a conversation, it's preferable for that conversation to be in one place, rather than split between two talk pages or multiple places. The main reason for this is that it's hard to follow the flow of discussion when it's all over the place. So, if you start a discussion on a user's talk page, be sure to put that page on your watchlist so it's easy to check.
  • Indentation is also important to use so it's easy for everyone to know who and what comment you are replying to.
  • It's also worth noting that if you're looking to get more information about a topic is better handled by heading over to the reference desk. Article talk pages should generally be focused on discussion about improving the article.
  • Just liked you notified me above, you can notify editors on article talk pages if you want to get their attention.
More details on talk pages can be found here. Feel free to notify me with more questions. :) I, JethroBT drop me a line 19:13, 30 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Your contributed article, Nahua religion edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Nahua religion. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Aztec religion. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Aztec religion – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Bgwhite (talk) 06:09, 16 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Um, no. Did you even read the little text that was there? The Aztec Religion article is for the ANCIENT religion, not the reconstruction!

I am recreating the article. Artheartsoul1 (talk) 19:19, 17 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Removing AfD template edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Nahua religion. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. This is an automated message from a bot about this edit, where you removed the deletion template from an article before the deletion discussion was complete. If this message is in error, please report it.—cyberbot ITalk to my owner:Online 20:52, 17 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for November 9 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Sources of sources edit

I just saw your note at Wikipedia:Village pump (idea lab)/Archive 22#Blogs .26 forums as reference for issues that are mostly online, and I want to make two suggestions about how to find "real" sources (where "real" means sources that other editors won't complain about).

The first is that I think you should sign up for WP:TWL. I believe that you have just recently met the qualifications to get free access to all kinds of sources. They have a long list, and many of them cover social studies, including religion. The regulars there can probably recommend something to you.

The second is that I think you should call the reference librarian at your local library. It is absolutely amazing what some of them can find, and the service is typically 100% free in the US. Mine even takes inquiries by e-mail. (You could even tell them about the m:The Wikipedia Library/1Lib1Ref campaign that starts in about two weeks.)

Good luck, WhatamIdoing (talk) 20:46, 3 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Invasive animal species in western North America edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Invasive animal species in western North America requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
