Traditionally, I-League clubs have done particularly well in the AFC Cup. In 2008 Dempo managed to reach the semi-finals of the AFC Cup before being defeated by Al-Safa of Lebanon.[1] East Bengal also managed to reach the semi-finals in 2013 before being knocked-out by Kuwait SC.[2] So far no I-League club have made it to the final of the AFC Cup.[2]
