Image copyright problem with Image:Mmc1-con-wcache.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Mmc1-con-wcache.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Silly question...=

I'm looking for the phrase "This page intentionally left blank" translated into various languages, so as I stumble on native speakers of various languages, I will ask. It used to be common in manuals reflecting pages deleted by revision, or provison for more pages in a section in future. User:Alex Law/This page intentionally left blank. Cacofiend

The article refered to is currently on Afd but has been previously speedied twice. Deletion edit summary is sometimes automatically in the edit summary box and sometimes a copy and paste part of the text into it. In this case the entire body of the text was included in as it stood. HDD Regenerator?

Hey, Arny.

I see that you added a HDD Regenerator to List of data recovery software but it has no corresponding article. May be you just misspelled it? Or did you know that red links are not allowed in list articles? (Red links are not allowed in categories and navboxes too.)

Thank you for your notification, actually I didn't know the no-red-links rule. The name is correct though, the program just doesn't have an entry on Wikipedia; I thought of creating a stub article for it, but I wasn't sure it is notable enough for it... Well, I don't want to be a killjoy, so it's sort of hard to say it: Lists are meant to have Wikipedia article only. (They are an organized way of presenting them; compare with categories which are raw.) And I personally hate seeing external links in the standalone lists; it seems like a cheat to me. Sometimes I turn a blind eye, but someone else may not. And there are exceptions too, but not in this case.

However, if there is any consolation, there are many other wikis on the Internet. For instance, I have found a software development wiki which accepts (and specializes in accepting) a lot of things that I cannot contribute to Wikipedia. You may find a system administration or data recovery wiki which lists every single data recovery software item.

Since I love to have an option too, I will download this HDD Regenerator and will give it a whirl. If it managed to impress me, I'll write a blog post about it. Fleet Command (talk) 11:59, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

Well, it's something similar to the SpinRite, but simpler with less (better said, no) options; I found it useful sometimes though, for somewhat (yet usually not much) improving quality of the rescued data from damaged drives (mostly when damage was limited to a few bad sectors)... This is in reference to a relatively new umbrella article on en-wikipedia named Ceremonial pole. Ceremonial pole is a human tradition since ancient times; either existed in past at some point of time, or still exists in some cultures across global continents from north to south & from east to west. Ceremonial poles are used to symbolize a variety of concepts in several different world cultures.

Through article Ceremonial pole we intend to take encyclopedic note of cultural aspects and festive celebrations around Ceremonial pole as an umbrella article and want to have historical, mythological, anthropological aspects, reverence or worships wherever concerned as a small part.

While Ceremonial poles have a long past and strong presence but usually less discussed subject. Even before we seek translation of this article in global languages, we need to have more encyclopedic information/input about Ceremonial poles from all global cultures and languages. And we seek your assistance in the same.

Since other contributors to the article are insisting for reliable sources and Standard native english; If your contributions get deleted (for some reason like linguistics or may be your information is reliable but unfortunately dosent match expectations of other editors) , please do list the same on Talk:Ceremonial pole page so that other wikipedians may help improve by interlanguage collaborations, and/or some other language wikipedias may be interested in giving more importance to reliablity of information over other factors on their respective wikipedia.

Unicode chart translation request

Hello. I maintain multilingual Wikimedia charts showing roadmaps to the various planes of the Unicode Standard.
I'm hoping you will provide Croatian translations for me.
The specifics are at User:Drmccreedy/roadmap_multilingual.
The current Croatian page for Unicode has some of the colors translated in the article but I'd like to move it all the the legend of the charts.
