Lead

~~The lead section of the original Wikipedia page for the Lazo Marsh-North East Comox Wildlife Management Area is fairly strong and I have intended to keep it somewhat as is. That being said I will be adding several bits mentioning, how the land is a shared ownership between the K'omoxs First Nation, the municipality of Comox, and the Comox Valley Regional District. Geography

~~ I shall change this area slightly, to speak on how the Marsh is situated within the traditional territory of the K'omoxs People. I shall also mention how the marsh and trail area lies at the Northern most part of the Coastal Douglas Fir Bio-Geoclimatic Zone. ( this will be with reference to my 3rd reference). Environment

~~ Here I would like to mention How it is connected to Lazo Marsh and the Comox North East Woods. Specifically, I will tie in how it is part of a sanctuary. Additionally I will be mentioning the network of trails throughout the area(s) and how the Lazo Marsh-NE encompasses wetland and riparian ecosystems, to old-growth forests. Wildlife

~~ This section will be used to briefly cover some of the local flora and fauna found in the Marsh's area. I will cover the trout and sockeye species that can be found depending on the time of year, to the waterfowl and other animals, with mention to over 140 species (from 3rd reference). A brief mention of the northern pygmy owl will also be mentioned (from 5th reference). Shall mention the invasive yellow iris in the marsh area (6th refernce). History

~~ Here I will mention the area being drained for potato farmings in the 1930s and 40s. Then in the 1960's a potato farmer bought the marsh land and other area, and established a bird sanctuary. I shall mention the towns push back to a development plan for the surrounding area in 1993. The marsh was originally known for a migratory stop for large numbers of ducks and fowl and Ducks Unlimited had helped to increase the amount of open water. Aid for restoration was given by Tom biebighauser, a renowned wetland specialist. the Lazo Marsh-North East Wildlife Management Area was later established in 2001.
