WP:No legal threats edit

While you didn't "threaten" anyone, per [1], you appear to have a legal action ongoing with a Wikipedia editor. The legal action itself is not a violation of policy, but our policy says that for as long as the action is pending (or a threat is outstanding), you may not edit at Wikipedia, so I have enacted a block until such time as the case is resolved. If you withdraw the case, settle the case, or complete the case, you are welcome to request an unblock. This done to prevent exacerbating the situtation and/or more deeply involving Wikipedia and/or the WMF in the lawsuit. As you have indicated the lawsuit is not a threat, but actually ongoing, I would recommend using the WP:UTRS system at the appropriate time to request an unblock. Reading the policy I linked should answer any question you have. Dennis Brown |  | WER 13:19, 9 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • Great, so Wikipedia is not just a forum for vandals, harassers, and defamers, the Wikipedia policy is to tie the victim's hands behind his back while he gets punched in the face. It's fair to say Wikipedia 's actions not only enable, but encourage and support the defamation. AriTeman (talk) 17:38, 9 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
On the contrary, Wikipedia's stance is to not take sides, but in order to do that, it has to disallow editing while an individual is taking action, so it can't spill onto the pages here. If that individual brings it to Wikipedia and discusses it, they will likely be blocked as well. If we allowed it to be discussed here, that would force the WMF to be a party. Blocking you here doesn't affect anything in the real world, just what happens here. Dennis Brown |  | WER 18:00, 9 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
