PolyGame Master 3

Hi, Archimëa. Information regarding PGM3 on the English page I have not personally written, as I had already found written before I started working on the page. But regarding your search for the French's article version, I've found an only source reference about that hardware and is this link: IGS LAUNCHES PGM3 HARDWARE Luigi1090 (talk)

The Nimatron

edit

Hello Archimëa, I took this picture of the exterior of the Buhl Planetarium, but I've never actually been inside the building yet, but I can try to contact them and see if the Nimatron is inside and if I can go there and get a picture of it. Give me a couple of weeks to check on this, and I'll try to get back to you in a timely manner. Leepaxton (talk) 00:44, 15 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Leepaxton : Hello. Thanks for replying.
Of course, I will wait for all you can do.
We will see. I'm very gratefull, and hope you'll come back with good news.
Regards --Archimëa (talk) 01:08, 15 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
UPDATE: Unfortunately, as of right now, no one seems to know what happened to the Nimatron, and perhaps it has been misplaced or maybe even worse. I can tell you that the current whereabouts of the Nimatron is a mystery. If I find out any further information about it, I will be sure to tell you as soon as that information is available.
According to The Theory of Gambling and Statistical Logic, Revised Edition by Richard A. Epstein (1995, 1977), on page 348 it says, "The first such computer was the Nimatron, patented in 1940 by Dr. Edward U. Condon, former director of the National Bureau of Standards. Built by the Westinghouse Electrical Corporation, Nimatron was exhibited at the New York World's Fair. At present it reposes in the scientific collection of the Buhl planetarium in Pittsburgh." But when I emailed their Director of Exhibits, Dennis Bateman, he said, "I'm afraid we have no institutional knowledge or record of the Nimatron being here now at the Buhl Planetarium (within Carnegie Science Center), or at the original Buhl Planetarium. I myself have been with the institution 27 years, and have never heard of this artifact. As a science center, we are not a collections-based museum – we don't have archives or artifact displays, and never have. If the Nimatron ever was at Buhl, it must have been part of a temporary display."
Since Westinghouse made it, I wondered if perhaps it was in the old Westinghouse Air Brake Company General Office Building ("the castle") in Wilmerding, PA, but I just read an article that said that building was recently sold. Another article I found online seems to indicate that the historical Westinghouse items that were in the building were donated to the Heinz History Center, and that is why I emailed their curators and archivists and asked them if they had any information on the Nimatron and its whereabouts. A research assistant named Gale Stevenson at the Heinz History Center's library reference desk sent me a message that said, "We have been working on your question and have no answer. We are able to verify that "Nimatron" was at the [Buhl] Planetarium for 2 months as part of the "Playground of Science" from the 1940 World's Fair, opening Nov 30th 1940. It returned in May, 1941. The next we found, from an article Dec 4, 1952, simply says, "Nimatron, the question man, slunk out of the Planetarium after flubbing a few easy questions" no additional information as to when or where "he" went. We did find a description that it was 8' tall and about 36" square, not something easily overlooked."
So far, that's all the information I've been able to find about the Nimatron. If I'm able to find out anything else, I'll be sure to send that information along to you as soon as possible. Leepaxton (talk) 20:04, 18 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
Hello Leepaxton.
Thank you for all the work this represents. All that confirm a non-native english can't find so accurate informations.
It's now sure it was for a temporary time.
According to Gale Stevenson, The Nimatron really was at Pittsburgh in 1940 and then went [or was dismantled] for sure the later in december 1952.
OK, Thanks for all your work. We never know, if you find something more, i will be intrested in.
I'm thankfull for your help. Regards from France. --Archimëa (talk) 21:22, 18 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Tiny Death Star

Are you going to explain it why you are removing content, or shall I just put some warning templates on your page? Govvy (talk) 17:07, 11 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Govvy go on, man, do what your need. Do you think your scaring me ? lol
Look my user contributions, i did not had any problem here untill you.
If you abble to undo a modicifation only because there is no commentary, it's really laughable.
All the time you spent loosing my time for this, you should look what i did and try to decide if it was really justified to readd what i deleted.
What a lost of time for nothing.
BUt come here and threaten of "put some warning templates on your page".
Because this is intimidation.
Please just stop^and do what you have to do. for a commentary, it's not seriaous --Archimëa (talk) 17:18, 11 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
Govvy Well. I manly contribute to wikipédia In French... There, commentarys are strongly recommanded, but not needed at any cost. But not adding a commentary can't justify to undo a modification... more, undo something usefull is not well seen there.
Perhaps it's different here.
If you need this commentary... Just undo again what i did on this page Tiny Death Star ... I understand that's how this wikipedia project works.
If not, just look at what i deleted.
But, because there is a but, i don't know how communication works here, but try to intimidate is not the best way to speak and to reach your goals.
Regards.

Please assume good faith in your dealings with other editors, which you did not do on Star Wars: Tiny Death Star. Assume that they are here to improve rather than harm Wikipedia. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 21:37, 11 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello ZXCVBNM. That's what should have assumed this guy with me, goog faith, when i deleted this useless information. I tried to improve the encyclopedia. For more answer about what i think, look just above. Try yo intimidate me how he tried is not acceptable [1]. Is this a way to speak to others contributors who try to contribute ? This is not acceptable. So he had only a non-answer from me.
That's enough for me. too much time for nothing. Regards. --Archimëa (talk) 21:48, 11 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
Try not to engage in tit for tat arguments. If you get insulted, then don't insult back, otherwise you end up looking just as bad if not worse than the insultee. Saying they are "wasting your time" is still an insult that implies they are here to waste YOUR time instead of spending time editing Wikipedia. They reverted you because they weren't aware of Wikipedia policy, and were obviously not trying to sabotage you. A more helpful thing to do would be to combine the removal with the addition of new, sourced material that would show the proper way to do things. See also WP:BITE. Cleanup is always good, but it should also be combined with adding to and building an encyclopedia and not just removing things.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 22:30, 11 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
