Even if the website you're linking to is a good idea to link to from all these articles, it would be a much better idea to first run that idea by a couple of knowledgable editors on this subject. So please stop for now, and discuss it first at, for instance, a project page on this topic. Thanks! --JoanneB 15:23, 29 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Okay. I don't mean to step on anybody's toes, but it seems like a pretty harmless (and useful) addition to me. What sort of hoop needs to be jumped through before this passes your muster? Aquemini 15:25, 29 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Try here, for instance: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Television_Stations. I really don't know if these links are useful, but links to the same website for large numbers of articles is very rarely a good idea. --JoanneB 15:40, 29 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
If, instead of a link, I prepared a distillation of the information provided by the external site, would that be acceptable? Aquemini 15:44, 29 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Well, you're still talking about a lot of edits, and it would still be a good idea to aks some opinions first. If you add the same kind of text to a lot of different articles, you have a good chance of getting blocked (P.S. Using two separate accounts and changing signatures isn't a very good idea either.) --JoanneB 15:47, 29 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
From these last edits, I assume you're linked to the Center for Public Information. I strongly ssuggest you read our policy on conflicts of interest too, and that you disclose somewhere (perhaps on your user page) that you have links to them. --JoanneB 15:49, 29 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Noted. Thanks for the guidance. It's appreciated.
