May 2018 edit

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Tim O'Brien (author). While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Hi there! Thanks for letting me know, I will try not to do anything like that in the future. I'm just getting started with editing, so I wasn't sure if that was acceptable. Now I know - thanks! As a side note, am I doing this user talk thing correctly? Apavlici (talk) 17:07, 18 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
Yes, you are "doing this user talk thing" correctly, except that you didn't indent your reply nor did you ping me. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Chris Troutman (talk) 17:11, 18 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Chris troutman: Awesome. Thanks for the help. Apavlici (talk) 17:21, 18 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

July 2018 edit

@Chris troutman: Hi there Chris, I have a question for you. I edited my sandbox recently thinking it would be a space to play around with some article ideas, but I didn't realize that a user sandbox space is technically public, so anyone would be able to see a revision history. Is there a way to either delete the page and its revision history or to edit content on a private page? Thanks in advance. Apavlici (talk) 20:51, 26 July 2018 (UTC)APReply
Wikipedia doesn't offer a means to edit privately. You could write the code offline in a word editor or such and paste it into Wikipedia later in a single edit. You can test code by pasting content in and using the "show preview" button without ever publishing changes. If you want to delete something in user space, please see WP:U1.
