Welcome edit

Hello, Ap1405 and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students. Go through our online training for students

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! Dr Aaij (talk) 04:08, 11 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Copyedit assignment edit

Hi Ap1405, this is a start but it is very minor--if you want full credit you'll have to do a bit more than that. And note that dropping the word "the" altogether was a better option. Thanks, Dr Aaij (talk) 19:11, 26 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

  • Re: Anand, Gujarat: good. Make a few more of these--and that article needs a lot more work: cleanup, copyedits, the lede needs to be reorganized, references need to be added... Dr Aaij (talk) 03:22, 2 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

User:Ap1405/Charles Jinright edit

Mr. Patel, if these four sentences are all you can pull out of those two sources (none of which are books or newspaper articles), it would be wise to choose a different topic. This does not look like the kind of topic that allows you to pass this writing class. Dr Aaij (talk) 03:35, 22 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

  • I see no edits there from you since 22 February, nor do I see anything you did in class on Monday. Dr Aaij (talk) 05:18, 1 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Besides no more work on the article since last week, except for the minor ones we did in class, I also see no peer review of the articles by Aporter90, which is what you were assigned to do. Dr Aaij (talk) 17:43, 10 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • This is all you have done in the last 20 days. You may think that so far this class is pretty easy, not requiring a lot of work, but so far you're also not passing the class. Dr Aaij (talk) 02:23, 27 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Ap1405--it's been 12 days since your last edit. Dr Aaij (talk) 15:24, 21 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • I've looked throughout your contributions to see if you responded to peer review anywhere, and I do not find evidence of it. In Charles Jinright, for instance, there's comments dated 7 and 10 March, but your last edit was 6 March. Same with User:Ap1405/Bhishma Ashtami, which received plenty of comments on the talk page--you haven't edited that in a week. So I do not see how I can give you credit for the "Respond to peer review" assignment. Nor, BTW, do I see where you proposed a Did You Know hook for any of the articles; that's another missed opportunity. Sorry. Dr Aaij (talk) 14:24, 1 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Charles Jinright edit

The article Charles Jinright has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG/WP:NPOL. Subject was the mayor of a small city for one term and is an executive with a non-Wikipedia-notable regional insurance company; no secondary sources demonstrate that he has done anything "beyond the scope of what would be expected for [those] role[s]" (see WP:POLOUTCOMES).

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
