Hey man, good work on the BLACK secondary objective spotting. I actually worked on Black and thought I'd spoil your fun by helping you out with some of the ones you didn't spot. I didn't directly come up with any of the objectives myself but I heard most of them being discussed.

The Phone List for JJ Directorate
This I believe is a reference to "K Directorate" from Alias. They changed it at the last minute to avoid legal issues

Infrared Photographs of Global Thermonuclear War
This is a reference to the film "Wargames"

A Security Pass for Hays House
"Hayes House" is the name of the office building where Criterion software is located

Dossiers marked Operation Take Away
I'm not sure about this one, but the guy who made up the objectives is a big fan of an Indian takeaway in Guildford called "planet spice" ( which incidentally is actually mentioned in the credits! )

A design Document marked “Dust Storm”
Black was originally known as "Dust Storm" when it was early in design ( due to the particle effects! )

The true identity of Master Rodis
This refers to "Nilo Rodis" who was loosely involved with the story of Black. Apparently he was also the guy who designed the speeder bikes from return of the Jedi

Proof of Death of K B Baer in 2001
This is most likely a reference to Jack Bauer from 24 which everyone was into during the development of BLACK. They probably changed the name to avoid legal problems

Verification? edit

Thanks for your help, Mystery Person. All of my entries into my Sec Ob Ref's were found by looking them up on Google or Wikipedia. Some of the addtions made to the Sec Ob Ref's by other people can be verified by looking them up on Google or Wikipedia.

I can appreciate that you worked on BLACK, but I was unable to verify any of your additions. In all fairness, my Sec Ob Ref's have no bibliography to speak of. The only form of bibliography in there are internet links that point to Wikipedia pages (I periodically go in to edit the page to include specific links).

If your additions are your own knowledge that cannot be substantiated through internet published content, then I cannot use it. Wikipedia also has strong rules about posting unsubstantiated info.

If you choose to post these Ref's, please put something like "(Submitted by [Your Name], [Your position], [Your company]. It would be a terrific plus if your name is in the credits of the game itself.

Thank you

April 2009 edit

Please do not assume ownership of articles. If you aren't willing to allow your contributions to be edited extensively or be redistributed by others, please do not submit them. Thank you. I am referring to the edits you have made [1], [2], and [3]. You also need to assume good faith with other users and not calling out other users in the way that you did. Finally, don't abbreviate Wikipedia as "Wiki"; that only causes more friction with other users. Thank you, MuZemike 21:06, 27 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
