Hello,

I have just done some work on beginning the lead section for a wiki and I was wondering how exactly to find images that are not copyrighted - I have looked on Google and found numerous illustrations but I want to be sure that they have no copyright status before I use them?

thanks, Antoniodimechio (talk) 21:56, 21 March 2013 (UTC) antoniodimechioReply

Citing original content by source

edit

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone could help me determine what type of content is verifiable and trustworthy? I have read through the guidelines but am still a bit confused regarding my specific application:

I am trying to find the history regarding a very obscure math symbol and have found limited research on its origins. I am wondering if I should cite the research I have found - can I deem it credible?

Please let me know and thanks in advance

Welcome to Wikipedia. To answer your above question, you can use this tool to find images that you can reuse, but it can be kind of overwhelming. The easiest way is to use this link to Google Images, which only returns images that are "labeled for reuse", which should be suitable for use on Wikipedia. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk pageHueSatLum 22:02, 21 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
