Your submission at Articles for creation edit

I noticed your submission in Articles for creation, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Lindor and Adelaide. Thanks! It will be reviewed by a volunteer soon.

Before it can be added to Wikipedia, your submission should have references. All articles on Wikipedia should have inline, numbered references after facts, showing the 'reliable source' (a newspaper, book, etc.) where the information can be checked, so that all information is verifiable.

Here's a video tutorial - hit play, then right-click for "full screen".

Here's an example of how to add references:

Chzz is 98 years old.<ref> "The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009. </ref>

He likes tea.<ref> Smith, John. "[http://foonews.com/Article42 Interview with Chzz]", Foo News, 1 April 2010. Retrieved 2011-05-22. </ref>

== References ==

{{reflist}}

That makes the references automatically display as small numbers[1] which will link to the details in the section titled == References == at the end. You can see that example in action here.

Please add references to your submission, which will be reviewed as soon as possible. See also, Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners. If you need any help, just put {{helpme}} at the end of this page, followed by a question or get into our live help chat chanel at #wikipedia-en-help connect.

Thanks for reviewing my article.

Are most of the problems with the "Philosophical and stylistic abnormalities section?" When writing it I thought I was keeping a neutral view point. I try to describe the arguments that Sayer makes in "Observations on Dr. Price's Revolution Sermon" without sounding biased in favor of or against them.

I realize now that words like "propaganda" and "agenda" in the paragraph about Lindor and Adelaide probably sound biased against the philosophy behind Sayer's work.

Do you think I could get an indication of some of the places aside from that which were found problematic where neutrality is concerned?

Sorry I haven't replied before now. My concern wasn't so much the neutrality but the way that it reads like an essay. You seem to be writing less about Sayer and more about his works. It reads like somebody's English/History homework rather than a biographical encyclopedia article. --Mrmatiko (talk) 11:18, 14 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sayer edit

moved here from my talk page to keep things together

Well, the dilemma is that I'm not sure whether we know anything about Sayer's biographical information. Should I probably give up the endeavor? I just got a book through an inter-library loan that mentions him as well, so that would be another source, but supposedly its only a brief mention. It seems like the two things he's known for are being one of Burke's disciples, and writing one of the first Anti-Jacobin novels that set the tone for a lot of later ones. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AntiJacobin (talkcontribs) 21:32, 17 February 2012 (UTC)

The issue is how the article is written. Other sources would be useful (even if they aren't hugely significant) because they would allow you to make it read less like an essay.

Here is a quick summary of what you can do:

  • Make the article about Edward Sayer, not his works
    • Split his works in to either a separate article and summarise them here, or shrink them down so that they fit in a "Works" section
    • Use your sources to write more about his early life, career, personal life etc.
  • Some formatting
    • Add Wikilinks in relevant places, for example: [[Cheese]]
    • Use ==Section title== where appropriate instead of *'''Section title'''

You could also read for some more detailed help:

If any of this is unclear, just leave a message here & I'll respond ASAP --Mrmatiko (talk) 19:05, 18 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! I'll see what I can do.
