Dear User:Jamiebuba,
Thank you for taking the time to review my submission. I aimed to enrich Wikipedia's database with information about several Ukrainian directors, thereby increasing the representation of Ukrainian filmmakers on the platform. I would appreciate your guidance on why information about a person who evidently exists and is actively working in the field described in the article cannot be created.
I had selected sources such as the Internet Movie Database (IMDb), a globally recognized and comprehensive site on film industry professionals, and AdForum, dedicated to showcasing the world's best advertisements, which includes information about him. Besides these, there are numerous other mentions and links to him as a director on various film-related websites.
Could you please help me understand how using these sources contradicts Wikipedia's guidelines and suggests that information about this individual should not be included? It seems to me that such an addition would enrich, rather than clutter, Wikipedia's database. There are references to this individual in articles about Mehdi Rajabian, where he is mentioned as the director of his album promo (Coup of Gods), and on the website of his school in the Ukrainian version of Wikipedia (Олександрійський коледж культури і мистецтв). Additionally, I found an interview with him from nine years ago on the Alexandria TV channel about his victory at an international film festival (YouTube link), further supporting his notability.
My intention in creating this article was to provide a single, comprehensive source of information about this person, rather than having people search through thousands of websites. This is particularly relevant since there is conflicting information about his place of origin on official city websites, with some stating he is from Kremenchug (example), despite him being from Svetlovodsk. I believe this serves as a useful and necessary example of the very purpose of Wikipedia: to prevent misinformation.
I'm keen to understand how I can improve the submission to meet Wikipedia's standards and look forward to any further guidance you can provide. AnnaBelik'85 (talk) 11:03, 13 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
