Hello Please try to reason with Argyrosargyrou. He is vandalizing all over the place, including user pages. I don't know anything about the Cyprus dispute, but he's going to get himself banned at this rate. He's calling everybody holocaust deniers and refusing to discuss any issues. Furthermore, he claims I have a personal vendetta against him. Since you've sided with him in the past, I was hoping you could review the evidence and help reason with him. Best wishes. Your unprotection of the Cyprus dispute article was somewhat inappropriate since the conflict that resulted in its protection has not been resolved. Please let me know on what grounds you have unprotected the article (except that it was protected for a long time ... 12 days that is). --Ank99 09:51, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)

That's one reason why I unprotected. The protection had run for a long time, and sometimes time alone has a calming effect. Also it seemed that discussion had essentially dried up. The article can be protected again at any time, but I don't think this would necessarily help in this case. At the moment there is a kind of dialog happening throught the edits, and by observing how editors behave in editing we administrators can gather information about the causes of conflict and why so little dialog seemed to result from page protection. --Tony Sidaway|Talk 12:05, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Hi Ank99!

Good that you distanced yourself from Argyro a bit... But you are correct in saying that methods are wrong, yet it is certain that some facts need inclusion. I have come to think that most probably only a new version could help, as the current one is very lengthy and also too neutral; a less history-centric view would maybe be favorable. Would you care to drop me a note or edit directly on Cyprus_dispute/New_version? - Snchduer 17:22, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I'M POV?????!!!!!! I'm trying to balance out the GC propaganda. This may come as a shock, but the GC's in Cyprus did not just carry flowers and embraced everybody in peace and brotherhood while TC's grew fangs, carried machine-guns in each hand and a bayonet between their teeth and did all the killing. There were a lot of atrocities committed by the GC's which for some reason is not remarked on all that much. True, I do support TRNC independence, but it is because I firmly believe that the mistrust between the two communities is so high, co-existance is simply not possible. RE: About Argy edit

Hello Oh it isn't that I particularly care about Argy, but I think some of his facts need to be included. Sadly, the way he goes about it completely discredits him, and I have no further desire to attempt to reason with him. Should I see unilateral action on his part anymore, I will revert it immediately, regardless of validity. He needs to learn to talk and play nice with other Wikipedians, and until he does I don't think he can be at all valuable as a contributer. Best wishes Scimitar 13:17, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)
