Misconstrued, am I?

Two well-meaning editors have, I think, misunderstood my edits on India and reverted it twice. Please neutrally comment on the talk page here and help me navigate through this gloomy phase. In your judgement, I trust. The reverter did not look closely at my additions and that's what spurred the argument I guess. I simply don't understand why my edits were reverted in the first place. Yes, I know what I could have done but I just don't get what I did wrong. Help! Mrt3366 (Talk page?) (New section?) 16:10, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

I would say 2 things 1) you added quite a few images. 2) You added them to a featured article. From what i understand, major changes to any featured article must be done after achieving consensus. So, IMO, you must propose what you want to add to the article, in its talk page. This is a general process, in place so that editors do not disrupt or ruin an FA with their good faith edits. This is not against you (and you are one of the best contributors i have met here) but to protect against bad edits. So finish that talk page thread, and begin a new one, to propose additions to the page. Plz do not get frustrated if consensus remains against you. Move on, and suggest more improvements. :D Also, IMO, addition of large no. of images is usually viewed unfavorably, so be careful with that :) Anir1uph | talk | contrib 17:03, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

Urgent!

I would like your comments here, it has moved far beyond images now. Some are playing badly. Mrt3366 (Talk page?) (New section?) 14:06, 3 September 2012 (UTC)

Hey! I went through both the sections, and i feel you are doing remarkably well. :) Achieving consensus can be tough anywhere, specially on an FA :) Anir1uph | talk | contrib 14:32, 3 September 2012 (UTC)
I am not doing well, without some support. If you have watched the discussion and think I am doing remarkably well, don't just cheer me up from the sidelines, run with me. A friend in need is a ... If you don't want to get involved in the complexities of the caste, at least comment here about a largest city template (like these Template:Largest cities of Australia, Template:Largest cities of the People's Republic of China, etc and there are many). Equipment of the Indian Army

LPTA is the standard logistic vehicle used by the Indian army along with Stallion and Matang was used until now. You rolled back all the changes including the constructive and correct ones. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.92.114.69 (talk) 11:55, 19 October 2012 (UTC)

I have not removed either of the 2 vehicles from the list. Anir1uph | talk | contrib 17:47, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
But obviously, you've removed their images and I'm not referring to Mahindra Marksman and why did you revert the constructive content as well such as "The 41 Ordnance Factories" was reverted to preposterous "About 41 Ordnance Factories", can we count their number accurately or is it too large to handle? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.92.126.124 (talk) 20:00, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
I did not reinstate the images as the article has too many images. As for the number counting, i would have preferred to cite a source first. If the error in language troubles you so much, why don't you change it yourself? I made it clear in my edit comment that my only reservation is with addition of equipment that is not in active use by the Army. 20:15, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
Dude, please don't get me wrong, but as far as the introduction of the article goes, it reads, "This is a list of some of the modern & historical equipment used by Indian Army." so only active equipment should be added is not a condition. I agree the article has too many images, but most of images are of armoured vehicles and there's NO image of troops carriers such as the trucks so there needs to be images of trucks as well so that it gives a full spectrum of the vehicles used by IA. I corrected the above discussed linguistic error, but you reverted them and again when you reverted some of your changes, you didn't even care to restore that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.92.123.150 (talk) 04:44, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
Oh using the word 'active' was my mistake. As i am unable to edit regularly, i am unable to spend time to find citations. I had gone through the list a few months back, and tried to verify each vehicle listed there, and removed those i couldnt find any citations for. It would have been better if i had added those citations at that time, but do to lack of time, i didnt do that. I just ensured that there were existing citations to support the claim. I finally found some time to correct my edits! I hope this is better Anir1uph | talk | contrib 05:10, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
Thanks :) Should we increase the thumbnail sizes of arms to 150 px and of vehicles to 200px? Because in that way, the readers will not have to click on them to get a better view as the current size is not very comfortable for viewing. Also, should we add VFJ before vehicles' names of Jonga, Shaktiman, Rampar, Stallion, LPTA? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.92.103.52 (talk) 06:10, 20 October 2012 (UTC)

We can do that. I also support adding VFJ in front of the vehicles, as is the norm for Tata & Tatra vehicles and Maruti Gypsy. But we would have to find out if VJF markets the Stallion as "VJF Stallion" or just "Stallion". In all VJF army vehicles, these is a small "Vehicle Factory Jabalpur" written in front. So that may be appropriate. Thanks! Anir1uph | talk | contrib 06:32, 20 October 2012 (UTC)

Okay, so should I prefix VFJ or Vehicle Factory Jabalpur? Is latter too long for a name? And should we write VFJ / AL and VFJ / Tata or just VFJ because MoD has directed the IA to procure vehicles only from VFJ and not from Tata or AL (just like in the case of Tatra, BEML is the supplier and not the Indian subsidiary of Tatra (Tatra Vectra)). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.92.103.52 (talk) 06:47, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
  •   DoneMade the changes as per the above discussion, removed erroneous content and linked the developers and manufacturers such as CVRDE, VRDE, OFT Trichy, VFJ, OFMK and HVF Avadi. Also encountered an error whose correction is beyond my reach Armoured Vehicle (VDRE), there's no such establishment of DRDO called VDRE, it's VRDE and I'm dead sure of this because my father served at the same establishment as a scientist. Can you report this issue or should we make a permanent link to the article with its correct name?
I saw the Vehicle Research and Development Establishment page, where the LAWV is mentioned, so i moved the page, made suitable changes and added wikilinks.
