Edit on Nadira Banu

edit

Hi, thank you very much for your interest and edits on the article on Nadira Banu. Also appreciate your work on Bruttia Crispina and Maria Josepha of Bavaria, those have been of immense help. Here I would like to draw your attention to the statement that you've used in the article on Nadira Banu that her maternal grandparents were Emperor Akbar and Salima Sultana Begum. Her paternal Grandfather was Sultan Murad Mirza, whom you have correctly mentioned as the second son of Emperor Akbar and Salima Sultan Begum. Thus Emperor Akbar was her great grandfather from both the sides, not maternal grandfather and Salima Sultan Begum was her maternal great grandmother, not maternal grandmother. Her maternal grandparents would be Sultan Murad Mirza and his wife. I will do a research to find the name of her maternal grandmother and for the time being I've only mentioned that her mother Iffat Jahan Banu Begum being the daughter of Sultan Murad Mirza. With Regards George Sharma. —Preceding undated comment added 01:03, 9 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Discussion of author Babasaheb Purandare at the Reliable Sources Noticeboard

There is a discussion at the RS Noticeboard as to whether Purandare qualifies as a WP:RS for the article Shivaji. Indded. You seem not to have used one in at least your last 50 edits. It is extremely confusing and you can expect your edits to be reverted because of that: people have no idea why it is you made the changes that you did. Thanks. - Sitush (talk) 21:23, 1 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Sitush. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Aurangzeb without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Sitush (talk) 08:05, 2 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Importance of sources

edit

Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living persons, as you did to Aamir Ali. Thank you.--Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 17:23, 6 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Why did you remove the Sambhaji info at Shivaji?

edit

It seems an established issue that Sambhaji was an unclear choice as heir. The man locked his own son in prison, that's quite significant and not something we can just skip over. Do you have any legitimate reason for removing that other than not liking Sambhaji "looking bad" in the article? MatthewVanitas (talk) 17:57, 13 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi Animefreak234, I see you've done good work in the Akbar article and recently made this edit, could you please give a good summary and reason for it? I would like to know why and see if we think in the same way on improving the page further. -Ugog Nizdast (talk) 17:48, 9 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your response, if you haven't read my reply already, I've stated my thoughts on this problem. If you still feel that it cannot be solved that way, then why don't we take it to the article talk page and get a third opinion, I'm sure there are many major contributors who can solve this. Removal of certifiable text from Mariam uz-Zamani

edit

The text and references cited for the text on the Mariam uz-Zamani are authentic. Books cited for text are held in high regard, though I am pretty sure no effort has been made on your part for even looking into them. The blatant disregard you have for textbook content from the books is not appreciated. Kindly read and verify the source before making changes.

The articles about other famous members of Mughal Nobility have been edited and cited by you with great flair. Though that was completely absent in the article about Mariam uz-Zamani, which lacked proper cited books and other sources 10 days back. The sources now used for the article are the very same, that were utilised in other articles about notable Mughal ladies edited by you. Their pages were enriched with diligence but not this one.

Given this particular lady was the mother of Jahangir and was a descendant from one of the most well-known royal families of the 16th century and of today, lack of information on her on wikipedia was disturbing. Later her association with the Mughals, results in first of the many unique unions of 16th century. A child from this marriage shows an important mixing of bloodlines and genes, which would be of great interest even today.

Coming back to sources, using books of historical fiction to edit articles is highly unreliable they take a fair share of liberties with plot and characterization. Don't use them to edit articles as this cheats the reader of the actual information example in the Ruqaiya Sultan Begum article. Hope my plea doesn't fall on deaf ears.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 22:15, 24 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
