The nature of editing in Wikipedia edit

You must remember that editing in Wikipedia is very much a collaborative process. It is no mere jest that at the bottom of the edit window, every time, you are admonished, "If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly or redistributed for profit by others, do not submit it." Whatever you write, others will edit; whatever others have written, you are expected to edit if in doing so you make it a better article. None of us owns our work in Wikipedia; we abandon that right the minute we hit "Save page"! --Orange Mike | Talk 20:38, 11 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
