Welcome! edit

Hello, AndyHemmerCincinnati, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was 1986 Boston College Eagles football team, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! —C.Fred (talk) 22:16, 5 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

About the photos you've been adding... edit

I see you've been adding a number of pictures to articles related to the BC Eagles football team and claiming them as your own work.

Can you confirm that you are the photographer and own the rights to the images? Just having a copy of game programs does not equate to owning the copyrights. —C.Fred (talk) 22:21, 5 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thank you Fred, just logging in, and no the artwork is not mine but I am pursuing the copyright OK from the artist Phil Bissell of Rockport Massachusetts AndyHemmerCincinnati (talk) 16:57, 2 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Betamax VCR Image edit

[[File:Sanyo Beta VCR foto by Andy Hemmer Cincinnati.jpg|thumb|YEP, STILL WORKS: Sanyo Beta VCR, foto by Andy Hemmer Cincinnati. After a $200 repair job at Volume Electronics in Reading, Ohio (suburban Cincinnati) in 2000, this bad boy has not missed a beat. #PandemicHobbies]] Hello, I just wanted to let you know that I removed your image from the Betamax article because I wasn't sure where you intended to show it and because the caption seems a tad informal. It also displayed as huge, but, if you add it back, just remember to add |thumb after the .jpg. US Bank Tower (Cincinnati) moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, US Bank Tower (Cincinnati), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Liz Read! A tag has been placed on Rivercenter 1, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Name in articles edit

Don't put your name in articles. Wikipedia articles should not contain the names of the editors who have contributed to them, whether for text or for images. JBW (talk) 19:27, 5 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

I see that after receiving the message above you have continued to post your name into articles. Please don't. If you do so again, you are likely to be blocked from editing. JBW (talk) 20:10, 9 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

hello JBW: well I most certainly do not want to be blocked. The only time I am posting my name, is in reference to a Photo Credit. Am i not allowed to post my name, if I am the photographer? I have not put my name in any other article. If I did, I apologize, and it won't happen again, and perhaps you could show me where that happened? I apologize, again. But I think I am entitled to a Photo Credit, no? thx JBW much respecxt from Cincinnati :) AndyHemmerCincinnati (talk) 20:31, 9 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
No you aren't. It is totally against the spirit of Wikipedia for individual editors to be credited in articles, whether for textual contributions or for pictures. You can, and do, put your name as the originator of photographs on their file pages when you upload them, and the edit history of each page you edit gives credit to you. If you don't want to post your work without credit to you being more prominently visible than that, then Wikipedia is not the place to post it. JBW (talk) 14:31, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
