There are a couple of reasons for this: first, our external links guideline lists personal websites as links normally to be avoided (please see WP:ELNO). Second, adding links to one's own site is generally not the done thing, as it runs counter to our conflict of interest guideline (see WP:COI) and may be interpreted as attempting to promote one's own work, which is not permitted (see WP:PROMOTION).
