WP Banksia edit

Hi Andrew, I've stopped by to ask whether you would by able to take digital photos for Wikipedia:WikiProject Banksia as there is a farm near you that has all 77 species of Banksia growing. Gnangarra 04:35, 20 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

That would be wonderful, please join the project that way you can keep track of what we are working on. Also there are number of editors at the wikiprojects WA, Banksia, who'll be more than willing to help with articles your interested in expanding. Also just drop me a note anytime you need help. Mount Barker edit

Yep, they were from the 2001 census - the 2006 UCL/LGA figures should be out in June with all others in Septemberish. Yeah it's a bit annoying, I'm in the same situation with some suburbs I'm working on in the Perth area recording a nil population in 2001. Orderinchaos78 16:34, 21 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Banksia edit

This is the list of species that still require images Wikipedia:WikiProject_Banksia/Article_notes#Species.2C_subspecies_and_varieties if you can get any please upload, just ask if you need help Gnangarra 12:31, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Nice pictures thanks for uploading, I'll add them into the articles in the next couple of days. Gnangarra 12:55, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Tower Image edit

Hi Andy I removed this image for two reason the first is that its inclusion is over crowding the article with images. The second reason is that Author notices on images are frowned upon the image page carries the author information, There is a policy/guideline about this I'll dig it up and link it here. Gnangarra

Wikipedia:Image_use_policy#User-created_images this is the particular policy that addresses the addition of Author details. Gnangarra 13:53, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
With images you take its best to upload them into Wikimedia Commons the advantage is that other language wikipedias can use them as well then, just create an account there with the same as you use here. The process for uploading is the same, all the MT Barker images would go into a category call "Mount Barker, Western Australia" then instead of a gallery in this article you link to the commons category and voila a complete gallery. see the bottom of Banksia epica for how this works. Anyhow I'm going to chase some zzz now but if you need help and can wait til tomorrow I'll answer any questions you leave on my talk page. Yeah it can be pain on busy talk pages where you get two or three conflicts before your edit gets added, and by then your behind the discussion flow. Gnangarra 14:08, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Images edit

Your images have pride of place at the top of the page in both articles Banksia coccinea and Banksia seminuda, thank you for providing them. Gnangarra 14:10, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

adjusted the caption of seminuda, also if can photo the seedlings around the tree for the section on cultivation which suggests this occurs it would be fantastic Gnangarra 15:03, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
ideally if at all possible the picture should show both seedlings and the parent plant, Gnangarra 15:27, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

User Page edit

Nice Picture you might find this template useful {{userpage}} Gnangarra 15:29, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good to see edit

your edits - I'm just saying hello and tagging them for the project - cheers SatuSuro 13:38, 1 March 2007 (UTC) but i do get very very distracted as i am in four projects at once - it helps remind me i am a divergent sort of person ...:) SatuSuro 13:53, 1 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Link edit

Hi Andrew, great to see someone covering the south-south-west. I've noticed your contributions. Anyway, I removed one of the external links at Castle Rock, I thought it would be polite to mention it. Regards, Fred 16:27, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I noticed there was a few pages around on the subject. I did a bit of redirecting to the range on other pages, when appropriate. I have no firm opinion on naming, I have just been working on some flora and fauna. Keep up the contributions. Regards, Fred 12:40, 9 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Mayors/presidents edit

Yep, we've been aware of this one for a while - it's uniquely a WA thing, so hard to code into a national infobox - also not sure how to do internal searches on the name to see if it starts "Shire of" and is in WA. Only other way to do it is to add a yes/no field to the infobox. Will raise it in the morning after suitable sleep :) Orderinchaos 17:59, 13 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I would love to talk to you about Blender Purple Guy edit

Hi Andrew, you may find this weird, but I would love to talk to you about Blender Purple Guy, since it has become a sort of emblematic character for me and my friends, and I feel like you are entitled to know all about it, specially since we have started to draw some artwork of him. Please let me know if there's any way to contact you. Meneleke (talk) 20:24, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
