Moving AOC

edit

I saw your question on WP:NCH, and I'm guessing you are referring to User:Anantshah/AOC. The problem is that an article called "AOC" already exists- in fact, it is a disambiguation page. First, please check if your article subject is already listed on the page AOC. Liqudlucktalk 05:02, 31 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've checked it out, and I do not believe this company is listed. Will the article name AOC (brand) be appropriate for your article? You can reply here, beneath this comment. Liqudlucktalk 05:25, 31 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi! Is there a way I can name it AOC Display Anantshah (talk) 05:48, 31 December 2009 (UTC)AnantReply

AOC Display would lead the reader to believe that AOC is a type of display- is that true? If it isn't, I believe AOC (display) would be fine. Liqudlucktalk 05:56, 31 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Can you tell me how can i make it AOC Display? AOC makees display products, so i think this wouldnt be misleading the readers in anyway Anantshah (talk) 06:43, 31 December 2009 (UTC) AnantReply

Please see WP:NCDAB, a page describing how to title pages when the main page is a disambiguation page. Unless the official name of the company is AOC Display, Wikipedia naming conventions say to title the article "AOC" followed by (qualifier). For example, the cigarette brand Camel is found at Camel (cigarette), where cigarette is the qualifier. What would you like the qualifier to be for your article? I'm about to head off to sleep, so here's directions on how to move your page. If you are unable to move it, I'll check back tomorrow to see if I'm needed.

  1. Click here: User:Anantshah/AOC. Look at the tabs at the top of the page- they should read "user page", "discussion", "edit this page", "history", "move", and "watch".
  2. Click on the "move" tab. Actually, here's a direct link: Special:MovePage/User:Anantshah/AOC
  3. There's a button labeled "move page". Above that are two white text boxes.
  4. In the "To new title" box, delete "User:Anantshah/AOC" and replace it with the article name you want- I recommend AOC (display), but you can type AOC Display if you want. The article may be moved again later, though.
  5. In the "Reason" box, type "move from userspace to namespace".
  6. Click move page.

You're all done. Nice article, by the way! Liqudlucktalk 07:17, 31 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
