/Motor control in humans has been userfied

Hi Anand Mishra.

I would like to thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. The article you uploaded has, however, been the subject of some discussion among fellow Wikipedians. Some felt it should be deleted, others felt that it should be improved and stay. The general sentiment is that you are a good-faith knowledgeable person with valuable contributions, but also that you seem to be unfamiliar with Wikipedia. The outcome was to transfer the article into your userspace (know in Wiki-speak as userfying it), and allow you to improve it.

May I suggest that you start off small, that your first actions are not starting a brand new article, but improving the ones that already exist. Start taking a look at articles in Category:Motor control -- you will probably find that some of them are in a pretty bad shape - I hope that you will improve some of them. I am no subject matter expert, but I have a hunch that your interests lie within the field of Computational motor control - this is presently a redlink (i.e. a non-existing article), but seems to be highly notable. I was wondering if a pruned version of /Motor control in humans might fit under that heading. Again, you should start familiarizing yourself with Wikipedia's existing articles related to this topic. A basic search suggests that you might want to consult Cognitive science#Computational modeling, Brain#Computation, perhaps Computational neuroethology, perhaps Cerebellum#Motor coordination and Kurt Thoroughman.

If you decide to start a new article, make sure first to create it in your userspace. You do that with a preceding the article name with a "/" slash, it would be like this: /Computational motor control. You can them work on it and improve it until you have an acceptable draft, which you can them move into mainspace. When the article lands in mainspace, over-eager anti-vandal new-page patrollers may swoop on it -- my personal experience is that it only brings frustrations. Therefore, work on your articles in userspace first. You should also check out the links provided by Joe Chill above, in particular The five pillars of Wikipedia and How to write a great article.

I would be happy to assist you with whatever questions you might have, on how to wikilink, how to cite sources etc. Just drop me a note on my talk page. It may take a couple of day before I answer due to obligations in meatspace. Happy editing. Power.corrupts (talk) 11:00, 3 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
