Speedy deletion nomination of Tutor answer edit

A tag has been placed on Tutor answer, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Status and Advice edit

As reviewing administrator, I just now had to delete the article. You asked on its talk p.

The website does nothing to provide monetary promotion to the website only to encourage visitors to the site - is the term I like to use, not promote - to ask and answer academic questions, school-related questions, about math, English, Science and so forth. I saw that you already placed JustAnswer (as in JustAnswer.com) on Wikipedia. JustAnswer asks for money - payment - from its users, before they can receive answers (from "experts" about Plumbing, Lawyers etc.), so I don't see why mine qualifies for a deletion. The website is clean-cut, neatly laid out, merely to help students in school receive answers to their questions. Where exactly on the text do you see promotion that's different from, say, the promotion that Amazon.com and Twitter.com do on your wikipedia??...

I just deleted the website name from the first paragraph. I'm guessing, that is what bothered you. I wish I knew what else I Can do. Other websites on the Internet are equally "self-promotional".

to which I advise you that:

that's not the standard--promotional applies to the promotion of anything, not just commercial advertising. You need to write like an encyclopedia article, not a press release--don't praise yourself, say what you do. This particular article is full of adjectives of praise, not description--even were it notable with references the article could not stand, written in such a way . More important really, you need to show notability with references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases . And, do not copy from a web site -- first it's a copyright violation, but, even if you give us permission according to WP:DCM, the tone will not be encyclopedic and the material will not be suitable. For further information see our FAQ about businesses, organizations, and articles like this. DGG ( talk ) 23:26, 3 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of TutorAnswer edit

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on TutorAnswer, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of TutorAnswer and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Ian.thomson (talk) 03:22, 16 December 2009 (UTC)   Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to TutorAnswer. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" is strongly discouraged. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.
