Radhanagar
editPlease have a look at Radhanagar, Paschim Medinipur. Cheers. - Chandan Guha (talk) 00:44, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
The 1718 built five pinnacle (Panch Chura) laterite temple at Radhangar has been identified as Raghunath temple by David McCutchion. West Bengal State Archaeology has also followed the name given by him. However, the name coined by McCutchion seems to be incorrect. Pranab Roy in "Medinipur Jelar Pratna Sampad" has mentioned this temple as Gopinath Temple (Page 202). The foundation stone says "খ বেদ রস সংযুক্তে শা/কে চৈব নিশাপতৌ গোপী/নাথস্য বেসমেদং ভক্তিতো/ দত্তবানহ ।। ১৬৮০" , which means the temple was built in 1680 shakabda alias 1718 AD and the deity was Gopinath. Even Tarapada Santra mentions in his book "Purakirti Samikhha : Medinipur" has mentioned this temple as Gopinath Temple (Page 145) quoting the same foundation stone inscription.
Hence in my Photograph, I have mentioned the structure as Gopinath Temple. Amitabha Gupta (talk) 12:50, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
