Welcome! edit

Hello, Amicus autem populus, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your recent edits to the page Kulin Kayastha did not conform to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may have been removed. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations verified in reliable, reputable print or online sources or in other reliable media. Always provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

April 2019 edit

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Kulin Kayastha, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 12:26, 23 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did on Kulin Kayastha. This violates Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. - Arjayay (talk) 19:52, 23 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

May 2019 edit

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did on Guha (surname). This violates Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Ekdalian (talk) 09:14, 8 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Kulin Kayastha. - Arjayay (talk) 18:14, 8 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Guha (surname); that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Sitush (talk) 11:16, 11 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Warning - sanctions edit

Please familiarise yourself with the information below. You are still making poor and unsourced edits, eg: at Kayastha. - Sitush (talk) 13:01, 17 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Are you reading this page? You've just made more poor edits, eg: at Kulin Kayastha. - Sitush (talk) 08:03, 19 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Blocked edit

Perhaps you're not aware that you have this page, or else you are ignoring the messages and warnings on it. Your edits to Pratapaditya not only removed the "citation needed" tags for unsourced text, but also changed the wording to express greater certainty. This is completely unacceptable: Wikipedia content must be based on reliable sources. Your edits at Kayastha did the same, and when they were reverted, you edit warred to keep you bad version in the article. You have been blocked from editing for one week. I hope that helps you find this page, if that's where the problem lies. Bishonen | talk 09:20, 19 May 2019 (UTC).Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week for persistently making disruptive edits. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Bishonen | talk 09:21, 19 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Guha (surname). utcursch | talk 00:40, 30 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Authenticity edit

Please consult the Early Life and Career of Ramchandra Guha on Wikipedia for further information about the surname Amicus autem populus (talk) 10:51, 30 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Umm... you added the "Brahmin" claim to that article, as usual, without a source (for this exact reason, a Wikipedia article cannot use another Wikipedia article as a source). Moreover, the article clearly states that his name has got nothing to do with the Bengali surname.
You have been given enough warnings about adding unsourced content. The next time you do this, you will be blocked indefinitely. utcursch | talk 01:43, 2 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
Please don't continue your disruptive editing while logged out, as you did here. That is considered sock-puppetry, and will get your this account blocked. utcursch | talk 04:41, 4 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Removing content edit

Why did you remove this? It appears to be reliably sourced and you gave no reason. I see you have also made further poor edits at Kayastha and that your edits to Pratapaditya, where you try to cite this in support of your name change simply fail verification. You've had warnings even since your block expired but do not seem to be heeding them, although at least now we know you are aware of this talk page. Pinging Bishonen. - Sitush (talk) 07:33, 8 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

June 2019 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for being a negative to the encyclopedia, as shown by the warnings and comments above, which you don't seem to be profiting from at all.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Bishonen | talk 09:31, 8 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
