Microsoft Office 2003
editHello
How do you do?
I was reviewing your contribution to Microsoft Office 2003 article. I see you had claim the version number of Service Pack 3 was 11.0.8174.8172. But when I studied the associated source, I don't see such a thing. Would you care to tell me where you got this strange version number for Service Pack 3?
Thanks.
Best regards,

- I did it with the version of the file executable in Office 2003 instead (it even shows in the about menu in Office!). Ambroise.sammy (talk) 14:04, 8 February 2016 (UTC)
- Ah! That explains everything. That was a rookie mistake, I am afraid. Because firstly, Microsoft is famous for patching its software through Microsoft Update without issue a release, hence you have newer version number than the "latest release version". Secondly, Wikipedia works based on sources not original research.
- But everyone who has been to Wikipedia may have done this mistake once or twice. No big deal. Enjoy editing.
