Mysore palace edit

Amar, currently, the article Mysore Palace kind of sits there alone with no real details about other palaces in the city. With my intention to bring Mysore Kingdom to FA, I want to create a detailed (as possible) subarticle called "Architecture of Mysore Kingdom" which will include such topics as 1. Mysore Palaces
2. Temples
3. Stately mansions and buildings of Mysore.

Much of the reliance will be on web pages and news paper articles. I am aware there are nice images for the palaces and perhaps the Chamundeswari temple. Please see if more temple images (inside the palaces premisies) is available, with their names. I printed out a couple of web pages yesterday which show some temples and if images are available, I can identify them by name. Also, do you know of any other material that can help me put together the "architecture" page. You were heavily involved in the "Mysore" and related topics so I though you may know. recently I read that there are some 170 royal and heritage buildings in Mysore that have been identified for protection. Do you know where to get a list of that. I will also need images of structures built by Tippu. I though I had an image of his tomb, but thats missing. Now we have full info (to the best of my knowledge) on Mysore literature and music.thanks.Dineshkannambadi 15:27, 3 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Narayana Guru edit

The website which you have listed out might have copied out from WIki as its new page. Old website had different article. Many websites now coming up with article sourced from wiki. i can show similar content from many websites.

I have edited the article. after that removed the template. i think now wiki warning vandalism template has become a threatening tool for many editors. is this also a vandalism?

License tagging for Image:Keremane.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Keremane.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:08, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi Amar edit

Hi Amar, Nice to see your message and feeling very bad to call it as Edit War, Really I dont have any such intention. I felt like what I did was being vandalised by other editors. I was continously posting discussion and talk regarding my edits , but they have no manners blindly removing the updation. I am not biased towards any particular active group. My intention is to give a clear and readable wiki document. I want to know how can we start a discussion regarding the edit, which I would like to add. Hi, the article is not an advertisement. edit

Wikipedia has complete information about management consulting firms like Bain, accenture etc. The article talks about the consulting firms in India. Its an information. There is a difference between advt and informationRinku07 09:03, 18 September 2007 (UTC). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rinku07 (talkcontribs) 08:59, 18 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Just a note edit

Hi, i noticed you gave a warning to User:Joe Capp regarding his removal of the speedy delete tag from the article he created, Dalberg Global Development Advisors (i saw because you just beat me to it adding the tag in the first place). Anyway, when a user does that, instead of just giving them the generic vandalism warnings, you can use the following tags instead, which are specifically about removing speedy delete tags. {{subst:uw-speedy1}}, {{subst:uw-speedy2}}, {{subst:uw-speedy3}}, {{subst:uw-speedy4}}.Keep up the good work--Jac16888 10:30, 18 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

No problem, we got to help each other out. By the way, i got them from Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace, which has a bunch of other types of specific warnings which can come in very useful.--Jac16888 10:36, 18 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

DYK 100 edit

Why thank you. Not that big of deal to me but the recognition is nice. I enjoy doing the articles so the motivation will likely remain, I have found myself a nice pace, good mix between wiki life and real life. So things are well in DYK land for me. :) IvoShandor 02:57, 20 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Krishnaraja Wodeyar III edit

Amar, do you want to make this a DYK, or shall I go ahead? I have several sources that could help me make this an interesting one. I am going to write DYK's on a few kings and musicians of this kingdom who currently dont have a page yet.Dineshkannambadi 18:04, 26 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

On second thoughts, dwelling too much on Mysore topic may make it repeatitious, so I will skip those DYK's unless I can think of someting unique.Dineshkannambadi 00:13, 27 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Mysore edit

Amar, now that we are working on Mysore and its history, we should try to maximise the number of stub pages that provide useful info. Most of the Mysore temples dont have articles (other than Chamundeshwari temple). You have done a good job with the Palaces, Mysore painting etc. Do you have images of any of the other temples mentioned in the "Architecture" section of Mysore Kingdom?Dineshkannambadi 14:54, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

In fact, after seeing many of your articles on Mysore, I have been inspired and decided to explore all the eight Mysore palaces, their museums and temples, next time I am in India.Dineshkannambadi 22:53, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I believe there is sufficient cause to create consolidated FA purely on Mysore paintings + Mysore architecture. Hope you get great images of paintings, frescos, murals, sculptures. Please try to get images Kannada inscriptions/manuscripts from the Palace area and from their temples. I believe the temples have sculptures of the kings and their queens, Try to photograph that too.Dineshkannambadi 12:22, 1 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
