Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, Alojzy.leszcz. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the COI guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Masum Reza📞 23:27, 12 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello! First, many thanks for explaining all the things to me.
Regarding a potential conflict of interest - here's the situation from my point of view:
  • My relation with DIF Broker: I'm a customer with an active trading account. I *DON'T* work with them.
    • In particular: I don't expect any benefits from them for writing the article.
  • Why did I decide to write an article about the company ? Because I found it missing and in my opinion the company is worth being mentioned.
  • I am aware that Wikipidia articles need to be written in a neutral way and did my best to make my entry sound that way. Please correct me if I make any mistakes.
  • I contacted people working at the company and informed them about my plan to add a Wikipedia entry just to make sure they have no problems e.g. with posting their logo here.
I'm happy to provide more information if needed. Please just let me know. Kind Regards, Alojzy.leszcz (talk) 17:50, 14 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
Even if you are not a paid editor, the fact that you contacted the company states that you have a COI, and you must declare it. Please place this on your userpage - {{UserboxCOI|Dif Broker}} . Thanks. Masum Reza📞 20:21, 14 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, that's done. Anything else ? Alojzy.leszcz (talk) 21:37, 14 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
