Unblock edit

Please unblock this account. Nlu blocked this account stating that it was blocked because it is a sockpuppet. According to Wikipedia's Official Policy on sockpuppets, they do have legitimate uses, and therefore should not be blocked for just being a sockpuppet. In fact the page quote's Jimbo Wales as saying "There's no specific policy against it, but it's generally considered uncool unless you have a good reason." With that, there is no basis for Nlu to have blocked this account unless he blocked it for being uncool.

16:14, March 30, 2006 Nlu blocked "AlmostThere (contribs)" with an expiry time of indefinite (Abusive sockpuppet)

If there had been a violation of another policy by the sockpuppet, then the account should be blocked for that. There has not been a violation of policy evidenced by a Check User Request initiated by Nlu which was | declined to be investigated. Without evidence of a policy violation Check User should not be completed. Nlu failed to cite a policy violation and the investigating admin clearly did not find one to base completing a Check User.

In fact, a solicitation was made at | the Administrator's Noticeboard to assist Nlu in finding a policy violation, and no one cited a violation in response to that inquiry.

Absent any evidence of a policy violation, I request that this account be unblocked. Thank you for your time. AlmostThere 03:32, 2 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

See Wikipedia:Requests for CheckUser/Archive/March 2006 for reasons why this should not be granted. --Nlu (talk) 07:47, 2 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
