License tagging for Image:Aspen3.gif edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Aspen3.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 06:06, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Preview Button edit

I would like to thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. However, it is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Thanks again. Edit Summaries edit

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. John Reaves 07:47, 28 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I see that your still making many small edits instead of one large one and still not using edit summaries. Any reason why? John Reaves 08:05, 28 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Your lack of summaries and excessive edits is very inconvienient to others and very selfish.John Reaves 08:25, 28 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I apologize for any inconvenience I have caused to Wikipedia users. I will read contribution guidelines more carefully in the future before editing articles. I was only adding information that I felt would be beneficial to those reading the article. Again, I'm sorry and will take greater care in the future before contributing.

This is my first comment with signature. This is only a test. Almightybooblikon 22:25, 9 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Don't worry about it, your edits were good edits. It was just hard to know what you did since there were so many and no edit summaries. These tools are in place to make it easier for other editors that like to watch an article and keep a sort of checks and balances system in place. John Reaves 22:42, 9 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with Image:Lockwood.jpg edit

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Lockwood.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Jusjih (talk) 03:41, 24 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:Lamprocapnos-spectabilis-in-evergreen-shade.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Lamprocapnos-spectabilis-in-evergreen-shade.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 00:05, 5 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for December 15 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Godley & Creme, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Fade To Grey. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Disambiguation link notification for September 20 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Bill Ward (musician), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Zyn. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
