Hi there edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I tidied up your article on MTVU. I don't know anything about what the article is about, so if you chose to re-write it in any way and need help let me know. Just so you know, try not to wikify any random word (there's not much point), try to keep things from a neutral point of view, and don't create sock puppet accounts (that's frowned apon). So welcome, and see you around. — Cuahl 4 July 2005 19:37 (UTC)

  • I read up on the sock puppet before creating this account and I created it because I have a online name mrWoot that is known online. --Ali Karbassi July 5, 2005 00:12 (UTC)
    • No problem to me, Cuahl is my online name, but I just don't see the point in sock puppet accounts if all it's going to do is wind up admin — Cuahl 5 July 2005 00:19 (UTC)
      • I understand. I do know what you mean. I've read most of the rules before creating the new account. I had that account for a longer time. I was suggested to create this account under my legal name. I did not want my online (company) name to be taken also. --Ali Karbassi July 5, 2005 00:33 (UTC)
        • Fair play, you sound like you know what you're doing - I didn't mean to offend — Cuahl 5 July 2005 00:40 (UTC)
          • Understandable. I will not say I know everything, but I did read up before creating the content. Help is always welcome. That is one reason why I joined wikipedia. --Ali Karbassi July 5, 2005 00:44 (UTC)

Yankees Suck edit

Hi, I noticed that you put the VfD tag on Yankees Suck but did not edit its VfD entry or add it to the deletion log. If you would like it to be deleted, please follow the rest of the steps given at Votes for deletion. --Idont Havaname 22:06, 11 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Image:Anna Faris2.jpg edit

You put a {{copyright}} tag on this image but didn't include a source. Did you mean to list it as a copyright violation? If so, what is the source? (I suppose, since you uploaded it, you would know...) -Aranel ("Sarah") 00:26, 31 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Image Tagging Image:Daisy Donovan.jpg edit

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Daisy Donovan.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 82.83.98.101 11:19, 4 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

== Image:Gabrielle Union.jpg listed for deletion ==
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as Image:Gabrielle Union.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, a non-profit website, this is in fact not the case. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. —Pilotguy (ptt) 20:53, 1 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your signature edit

Hi! I ran across a comment you left on Template talk:Infobox Celebrity#Age: Should it be used? and noticed that it caused an aligment problem with the next section on the page (see this version). I recommend that you replace each occurence of "float:left" or "float:right" in your signature with "display:inline", resulting in a signature that looks like this:

I hope you find this helpful. Have a great day! — Elembis 17:00, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Seems to work perfectly, except for the whitespace on the left side of the second box. Thank you.

Non-free use disputed for Image:Wsup.gif edit

  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Wsup.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 11:33, 6 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for December 25 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 25band, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Band, Electronic and Persian. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of Luria Petrucci edit

The article Luria Petrucci has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article does not meet WP:GNG. As far as I can tell every source currently being used is a primary and unreliable source (mostly blogs and social media) that barely contain any prose whatsoever. The Geek Pub blog post contains about 500 words and I think that's more than all the other sources combined. When searching on Google news some articles show up, but Luria Petrucci wrote for digitaltrends.com and earth911.com and once you remove those sites from your search results you're left with a total of 8 sources that barely mention her.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
