CASE in article titles edit

Hello, Alfgarciamora. I happened upon Wikipedia:Wiki Ed/Florida International University/Basic Ideas of Sociology (Spring 2016). I noticed that several of the articles students signed up for appear to be 'redlinks', meaning the article doesn't exist. On second viewing, though, I realized that some these are due to Upper Case letters in titles. Article titles on Wikipedia are case sensitive. For example, there is no article at Strain Theory (sociology), but there is one at Strain theory (sociology).

This might not be a problem for your students–presumably they know where the articles are–but I thought it was worthwhile to offer a quick heads up rather than risk them re-creating articles in several places. Best, Cnilep (talk) 05:44, 9 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Cnilep: I appreciate your message - thank you for this insight. Yes, I think that several of the articles early on were red links for that very reason, and I have been working with students to ensure that they do not create pages that already exist. I was confused early on as to why this was happening so much, but now I know that it has to do with the case. If you have a free moment, I would greatly appreciate your insights into the other articles that my students are editing. If you see any clear cases of this mix-up, please let me know. Again, I thank you for taking the time to send me this message. Alfgarciamora (talk) 14:19, 9 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

September 2016 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Wes Anderson are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic or unrelated topics. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you.   Please do not delete or edit legitimate talk page comments, as you did at Talk:America's Next Top Model. Such edits are disruptive and appear to be vandalism.   Great course you're having! Don't hesitate to contact me if I can help you or your students in anything! Leo Sammallahti (talk) 19:10, 17 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Sammallahti: Thank you for this! I am teaching a new course this semester and would love your feedback on my students' posts. Take a look at the Death and Dying dashboard. Let me know your thoughts! Alfgarciamora (talk) 19:37, 5 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add commentary nor your signature in articles edit

Your edit on Cultural Neuroscience here perhaps should have gone on the author's talk page: Val.delrio. I removed your comment. Please be careful as articles are "live" and any changes may show immediately. Please see wp:talk page guidelines and wp:user pages Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 00:49, 6 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Apologies for that. I thought that I was adding to her sandbox page.

Article Evaluation Question edit

Hi Dr. Garcia! Could you take a look at my edits on Ghost marriage (Sudanese)? I added a citation and information from it, but also added some information that I found from another Wiki Page that referenced it. I hyperlinked the page, but did not include an in-line citation. Do I need to find one for it or is linking the page sufficient? Thanks! Lauramt1023 (talk) 20:49, 17 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
