Speedy deletion of Gürkan Özkan

edit

A tag has been placed on Gürkan Özkan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.   Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Ronaldo. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. Gwernol 18:36, 26 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please do not vandalize pages, as you did with this edit to Zlatan Ibrahimović. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. Snowolf How can I help? 18:38, 26 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Username issue

edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: Same name as the football player Alexandro de Souza (a.k.a. Alex de Souza. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

You can just respond here, as I'll keep a watch for a couple of days. -- Alexf42 19:03, 26 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

It has been 5 days since the request and you have not responded, yet you have been active and posting in Wikipedia. I'll give you a little more time to catch your attention to this issue. After that I'll have no choice but to post a report in WP:RFCN where it will be decided. It is much easier for you to deal directly with this issue instead of being taken out of your hands. I urge you to respond and discuss it here, instead of starting a formal review process. -- Alexf42 13:03, 31 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
