Thanks edit

Thankyou for the welcome message.

I'm rusty having not been around for a couple of years, but have a basic understanding of the editor, tags etc. I have a summer of free time ahead, so thought I'd do a bit of twiddling.

Something caught my attention this morning while there is fatal, unprovoked shark attacks in the United States the Australian equivalent was deleted apparently because it was just a pointless redirect to the main Shark Attack article. Any idea on how to revisit the idea? I'd be happy to flesh out an Australian page.

Mental note, do not click on edit while on phone.

Hi AlexToowoomba. Welcome back to wikipedia. There is plenty to learn about here at wikipedia, but the great thing about the project is that every little helps and there are many places that one can start and build up knowledge little-by-little. Making an Australian equivalent for the List of fatal, unprovoked shark attacks in the United States sounds like a good idea! It would make a good first article for you. I am not sure why the previous attempt was deleted, but it was probably because it was not sufficiently different to the main Shark Attack article. Be sure to make them different so that they cover clearly different areas. A well fleshed out page very similar to the US shark attack page with verifiable sources should be enough in my opinion. However remember Notability. You could flesh out an article draft on a subpage under your own user page until it is ready to go "live". I can take a look at it and help you with it if you need a second eye also. Antarctic-adventurer (talk) 12:05, 1 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
