Welcome! edit

Hello, Aleclere0413, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Brianda and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Article selection Muhammad I of Cordoba edit

Hi @Aleclere0413, I see that you selected to work on the article Muhammad I of Córdoba. This article currently has a level of edit protection that means that you will not be able to edit it. I suggest choosing a different article to work on. Let me know if you have any questions. Looping in @Kathrynjasper. Brianda (Wiki Ed) (talk) 20:35, 16 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Brianda (Wiki Ed),
Abby has already done substantial research on the topic and we only have 6 weeks left in the semester. It would be very difficult to change at this point. Is there no way to lift this protection? [ip address removed] 16:37, 17 October 2023 (UTC)
@Kathrynjasper and @Aleclere0413: I looked into it further, and the protections are in place bc of a suspected case of WP:Sockpuppetry. The protection expires by 22:09, 14 November 2023, which I believe gives the student enough time to edit the article. I think we should be in the clear for this article. If not, we can start a discussion on the talk page to see how we can make the edits happen.
(Sidenote: When users are logged off their wikipedia account and leave a message, rather than signing with a username, Wikipedia uses the person's IP address, which can provide a lot more information about the user than intended. I suggest double checking to make sure you are logged in when making any edits.) Brianda (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:39, 17 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Phew! Thanks, @Brianda (Wiki Ed) That’ll work just fine Kathryn L. Jasper 17:46, 17 October 2023 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kathrynjasper (talkcontribs) Reply

November 2023 edit

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Muhammad I of Córdoba—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks.
