Bakers Delight edit

{{helpme}} Hi John,

I've noticed that the Bakers Delight page has been tagged with a Conflict of Interest & Advertising. I'm contacting you as I've noticed you've taken an interest in ensuring this page is accurate. I work with Bakers Delight and we are very conscious of ensuring the facts are accurate, rather than promotional. As you've also seen, there are some others with greviances with Bakers Delight who have also been editing the page

Can you provide any insight / reccommendations to change the page to have the Advertising/Conflict of interest removed, and how we can protect the accuracy of the page? Alec19 (talk) 01:11, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

This situation is best discussed at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard#Bakers_Delight.   — Jeff G. ツ 05:19, 12 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Also, it would be better if you contacted John at his talk page. -- œ 05:23, 12 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi Alec, the tags for Conflict of Interest & Advertising will be removed as the page is improved in line with our standards. Protecting the accuracy of the page is not something you can do directly, esp. given you have a conflict of interest. The best way to assist in maintaining its accuracy is to expand the content of the article, and always provide a reliable sources for each assertion made in the content. The history of the organisation is a good place to start, especially the early history as it will be less contentious. We don't have any sources for it starting on Glenferrie Road, or for its current number of franchises. There will be thousands of newspaper articles which can be used to flesh out the story of how it grew from 1 to 700+ bakeries; they need to be found and added.

Irrespective of your COI status, you can remove flagrantly inaccurate information if a reliable source is not provided. If a source is provided, and you think it is misused or isn't a high quality source, you should avoiding getting into a one-on-one fight with the person trying to add the information. Seek assistance from people who don't have an agenda by taking your concern to one of the noticeboards, such as WP:NPOVN or WP:RSN, or WP:AWNB if you are looking for more general assistance. Hi John,

I've gone through and made sure that everything listed on the Bakers Delight page is referenced to a third party source, rather than to the official BD website. Hopefully this will comply with the 'advertisement' and 'conflict of interest' guidelines. There's not much else that can be said at this moment, however the information is correct, verifiable and to the point, rather than promotional. Would love your opinion as to whether the tags at the top of the page can be removed! Alec19 (talk) 05:28, 29 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I've removed those tags; thanks for taking the time to locate the references. John Vandenberg (chat) 08:57, 29 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Space edit

I've deleted the spaces as they are completely pointless and unstandard.Curb Chain (talk) 06:18, 29 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
