Hello. Unfortunately, I cannot comply with your request as yet. Most of the world does not currently recognise the Republic of Kosovo as a sovereign state, and the same is true of the Republic of China (AKA Taiwan); most states recognise those two areas as portions of Serbia and the People's Republic of China, respectively. The potential differences between the peoples in those regions are not necessarily relevant. International recognition is an important component of statehood: even our list of sovereign states qualifies these entries. To list those entities without any qualification in the passport listing (whether alphabetically as any other or adjacent to the other) implies that there are no issues regarding their political status. You will note that I created the passport gallery a few days ago, having also added subentries for entities with essentially no international recognition (e.g., Georgia/Abkhazia, Moldova/Transnistria) for impartiality, since they issue passports. However, if most countries won't accept such travels document because they don't recognise them, it doesn't mean much, does it? The entries must be treated equally, and all entries must be treated equitably, as the current listing does. Someone will presumably come along to try to change the Taiwan entry as well, in which case I would respond in a similar manner. I empathise, however, and am receptive to proposals and other suggestions that address these points. Thoughts? Sorry, and thanks. Bosonic dressing (talk) 23:26, 28 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:Albanian passport 1991.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Albanian passport 1991.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. –Drilnoth (T • C • L) 23:43, 16 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Content disputes

edit

Can you please make your case for amending contested content to Albanian passport at its Talk Page. Repeatedly reverting and stating rationales at edit summaries is not a mechanism likely to result in consensus. Thank you. RashersTierney (talk) 14:02, 20 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Pasaporta Shqiptare Biometrike 2009.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Pasaporta Shqiptare Biometrike 2009.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:02, 5 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Bllatë e Epërme, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Macedonia (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Barbullojë, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://hewgill.com/~greg/wikiblame/simple/Asyut.html.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:03, 6 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
