You didn't get a response to this question, but the rest of us can't see the information you found. You used part of a URL but until we see the entire URL, we can't access it. If you are certain the date of the source is wrong and you have access to the source, most likely you were right to correct it. As for whether it was original research, it would be hard to say without seeing the sources, but I would think unless it was medical information, you would be fine.
