Spider-Man

edit

I understand you have only been editing Wikipedia since July 14, and that it takes a while to understand all the guidelines and manual of style directives that editors have reached through consensus over the years. We've all been there.

That said, you are violating several of these guidelines and directives at Spider-Man. For one, when you are reverted the first time, the protocol per WP:BRD is to discuss your reverted edits at the article's talk page rather than edit-war. You are also ignoring WikiProject Comics Manual of Style and the tags in the "Fictional character biography" section that disallow excessively long, overdetailed "fictographies" of the type you are edit-warring over.

Please go to Talk:Spider-Man#Excessive fictional character biography and try to reach consensus with other editors. If you continue to edit-war, an admin will be asked to block you from editing. Thank you for understanding, and please don't be dismayed. As with anything, it takes a while to learn the ropes.--Tenebrae (talk) 01:31, 27 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I am so sorry for the excessiveness, I absolutely see the point. I missed the previous messages and that was why I didn't address anything, my intention was not to do an edit war and I apologize for giving any impression of that. I'm new to this and definitely appreciate the feedback and understand the comments. AlanSigma (talk) 12:06, 27 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

You can find some tips at Wikipedia:How to write a plot summary. I also recommend looking at some of the comic-themed articles that have been recognized for quality to get an idea of how what a good article looks like. Argento Surfer (talk) 13:01, 27 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, AlanSigma! Any newcomer willing to take time and learn is A-OK with any veteran editor. That type of collegial spirit makes for a valuable addition to Wikipedia! --Tenebrae (talk) 23:43, 27 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I wanted to let you know that your recent edit(s) to the Jason X plot summary have been removed because they added a significant amount of unnecessary detail. Please avoid excessive detail and high word counts when editing plot summaries/synopses. You may read the plot summary edit guides to learn more about contributing constructively to plot summaries/synopses. There are also specific guidelines for films, musicals, television episodes, anime/manga, novels and non-fiction books. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 13:27, 26 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
