Need some help on this one if you're around. I'm at 3 reverts already. --Drr-darkomen (talk) 18:54, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

I totally counted wrong. He was already over. heh. Oh well. Thanks for the help.  :) --Drr-darkomen (talk) 19:11, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your help with BLPs!

  The BLP Barnstar
Your hard work on BLPs in general, and at User:Lar/Liberal Semi specifically, is much appreciated. That page has now been sunsetted (and I hope never to need to bring it back) but the work you did there (whether by bringing articles forward, reviewing them, or protecting them... or even by questioning or criticizing the process!) was of great help to the project. See you in the trenches! ++Lar: t/c 01:49, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

MMAstats merged with Infobox martial artist

Just letting you know that User:Plastikspork has merged them, here's his post from MMAstats discussion.

Okay this is now "technically merged" with {{infobox martial artist}} in that it now just passes all the parameters through to martial artist. If you replace {{Infobox MMAstats with {{subst:Infobox MMAstats it will replace this infobox with the martial artist and bypass this template completely, which would remove all the transclusions necessary for this one to be deleted/redirected. I will have AWB do this for any remaining transclusions in about 12 to 24 hours. Thanks. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 14:50, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

He also got rid of children & spouse but added them back as it screwed up pages that used them. I think he's right though we should only list prominent spouses under Notable relatives (there aren't to many) and then just eliminate children & spouse. Also the yearsactive field is now (Example:1999–present) minus the the manual calculation of the specfic # of years active, it would be too labor intensive to update yearly.

Also I have updated the project page to point to Infobox martial artist as opposed to MMAstats. --Phospheros (talk) 20:37, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for posting the notice. I have had some second thoughts and think spouse might be fine since it is used in so many other infoboxes. It's easy to join these fields later, but splitting them is more difficult. But, children seems a bit excessive if we already have relatives. Sorry for the temporary glitch earlier. It's probably enough to just deprecate children for now, but not remove it until we are sure it's not in use (as you pointed out). Although if we completely nuke the children field, I don't think anyone would complain. What I did earlier, trying to merge them, was clearly problematic. Awesome stuff, great work guys! :) --aktsu (t / c) 23:59, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

Far overdue for an award

I think im wayyyy overdue for a barnstar or some sort of award. Already Paul Daley and Alexander Gustafsson have been signed to the UFC, Marius Žaromskis is a title holder, Ross Pearson wins TUF, Christian M'Pumbu is a top M-1 Global fighter, Bitetti Combat is made up of half of fighters I created. I mean I could go on and on and on with this.Sepulwiki 18:38, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

Fighter weight

I think that maybe the template should specify a unified way of listing a fighter's weight, such as the weight at the fighters last weigh-in. On the Brock Lesnar page his weight keeps getting changed as his weekly weight is posted on his youtube page. Also I think we should specify how the weight division is formatted to keep people from changing 265 to Heavyweight (the 265 links to Heavyweight (MMA)), it's better I think to use a # as the weight classes are still not unified across all promotions. Thoughts? --Phospheros (talk) 23:46, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

I agree that the weight should be based on the last weigh-in. I also agree that there should be guidance on given for issues like weight division, when possible. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 00:09, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

Nick Catone Photo

I was just wondering why the photo I uploaded was deleted? It was my own photo, I took it the first time meeting Nick Catone after his win at UFC Fight Night 18. Justastud15 (talk) 16:59, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

How would I prove its mine? Justastud15 (talk) 02:21, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Mistake?

I noticed you removed the record column for Thiago Alves page here. Was that by mistake or was that something we want? Jonhan (talk) 06:13, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

Oh ookay. I didn't realize there was a discussion on the subject, I just thought Alves might have been a special case or something. I'll dig up the convo. you mentioned. If I may inject my opinion on the subject while we're here, one of the reasons I prefer the Wiki tables over Sherdog's fightfinder even is surprisingly the record column -- the biggest reason being easier navigation. My example being, I can look at it and say to myself "Babalu was 22-5 when he fought Shogun" etc. But yeah, otherwise I'd have to count from the bottom to top. Jonhan (talk) 10:22, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
Wait is this the discussion you mentioned? The last guy's question was never discussed if it is haha. Jonhan (talk) 10:30, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

Stop fancying yourself nanny of MMA boards

You were wrong to remove my photo of Tank Abbott. I appreciate the care and attention you pay to this most picayune of topics. But frankly, you had no right to question the legitimacy of my posting an image that I have owned outright since 1999. Please replace it at your earliest convenience. Rashad Evans

This is no such thing as being an "All-State" wrestler from New York State. You are either state champion or you are not. State champion is the only official honor and Evans got hammered both years by my sectional teammates. Rashad Evans never earned any such recognition as being noted on the page and the statement is false. I wrestled in New York State at this time and can confirm you are misstating his career as there is no such thing. To utilize such statement, you need a reference to back it. Please refer to his career properly. The more appropriate way to define his high school career is successful. tddaly (talk) 13:37, 19 September 2009 (UTC) tddaly
