Proposed deletion of Amadeus (band)

edit

The article Amadeus (band) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails notability at WP:BAND

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Band notability

edit

Hi - I wanted to give you some feedback on your article and why it was nominated for deletion. The main issues is that the article doesn't have enough sourcing to establish notability and the sources currently in the article aren't really ones that can show notability. For example, this is just a routine database listing that shows that the band released music. While it can show that the album exists, it doesn't give notability in and of itself. The other two sources are wiki pages, meaning that they are entries created by those sites' respective users and as such, can't be used as sources at all. It's the same reason why Wikipedia cannot source itself, as there's not enough editorial oversight to guarantee that the information is accurate to satisfy Wikipedia's guidelines. The information may be correct, but the "anyone can edit" thing makes these types of wikis overall unusable as a source.

What you will need to save the page are things like newspaper articles and reviews in reliable sources, which can be very difficult to find for bands and other topics that occurred in the early 2000s or late 1990s. I've moved this to your userspace at User:Aki kaze/Amadeus (band) to give you more time to work on the article, as the article would otherwise run the risk of getting deleted via other means. The main thing to keep in mind is that just saying that the band influenced further performers, music, and bands isn't enough - you need to show this via coverage.
