edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Battle of Trindade has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): geocities\.com (links: http://ca.geocities.com/volturno@rogers.com/volturno61.html). It appears that you inserted an e-mail address to Battle of Trindade. Wikipedia pages should not contain personal information. For more information, please read Wikipedia:Biography of Living People, specifically the section about personal information.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 06:16, 6 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Command of The Oceans

edit

You have stated that the Battle of the Falkland Islands article cannot belong in two campaign boxes, yet there are dozens of articles in wikipedia in multiple campaign boxes. The Command of the Oceans box contains the battles fought by the German East Asian Squardron and by that reasoning the battle of the falkland islands would belong in that box as well, would you not agree? XavierGreen (talk) 21:36, 24 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes I would agree, I did not realize the Command of the Oceans 1914-1915 box was specifically for battles of the German Asiatic fleet. I was thinking the campaign box was for naval battles fought in the Pacific and Indian Oceans by any Central or Entente navy's. Since the battle off the Falklands is an Atlantic event, I moved it to the recently created Atlantic 1914-1918 campaign box. I thought it was kind of wierd seeing the Battle of the Falkland Islands in both the Atlantic and Command of the Oceans campaign boxes. To put it simply, its not my way of organizing and I am very content when it comes to a consistant organized system, a standard protocol if you will. Now that you have explained yours it makes sense. I see your reasoning and agree therefore I will not change it back, sorry for the mix up.--Aj4444 (talk) 22:31, 24 July 2009 (UTC) :>)Reply

Picture

edit

I've moved the photo File:Before the battle.jpg from the English wiki to Wiki commons. This means it can be used by all wiki projects. It will still "show through" to the Dry Wash article as I left it with the same name. I also did some formatting on the info. Note the Date is the date of the picture not the date you uploaded it. Thanks for uploading it. To get to it on commons click on the "description page there" link that will show on it when you view it on English wiki. RlevseTalk 02:30, 30 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the feedback and adding the info, I wasn't sure what was needed. :)--Aj4444 (talk) 02:33, 30 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Battle of Fatshan Creek

edit

A tag has been placed on Battle of Fatshan Creek requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. edit

Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary. Thanks, and happy editing.

Also, please feel free to shrink down the images on your page, as they are really, really big and obnoxious. Also, you can add |thumb|Caption]] to every image, so that they have a caption attached to them. Have fun! Kevin Rutherford (talk) 14:06, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

You writing a comment such as this is obnoxious, if I wanted to scale down or thumb my pictures I would have done so, mind your own page.:(--Aj4444 (talk) 20:31, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I know that this seems mean, but you are risking a rogue editor nominating this for something. I could frankly care less and really like the photos. You might also want to check out the following images. Kevin Rutherford (talk) 22:10, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

What are you--Aj4444 (talk) 22:15, 4 August 2009 (UTC) writing to me about? You say I am "risking a rougue editor nominating this for something". I dont mean to be rude but that does not make sense. I dont beleive I have nominated my page for anything, not to my knowledge anyway. Either way, thanks for the photos.:)Reply
There are those out there who will nominate things for deletion, and sometimes they pass. I think that you should definitely add some biographical information about yourself and I would strongly encourage you to join the Military History WikiProject as you seem interested in that sort of stuff. Thanks for the thanks there. Kevin Rutherford (talk) 00:00, 5 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Maybe I will, I was just bored one day and decided to start adding pictures to my user page, eventually it expanded to its current state. I have some researching to do about the Second Opium War so I cannot really start expanding my page now but I will in the future. Thanks for explaining what you meant by the deletion/nomination thing, I had no idea ones user page can be deleted. :>) --Aj4444 (talk) 17:34, 6 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Plan_for_Battle_of_Fatshan_Creek_map.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris G Bot (talk) 00:12, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

New Mexico Campaign

edit

I reverted your move of New Mexico Campaign to East Arizona and New Mexico Campaign. The reason for this is that your title does not seem to appear in reliable sources or in common use, and Wikipedia article titles use common names. If you want to argue for your move you can do so on the talk page, but it should not be moved back without discussion there or through requested moves. Thanks,--Cúchullain t/c 19:29, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

You changed it back idiot, I did leave my reasons in the discussion page in case you have not read it. New Mexico campaign is completely wrong. Not all of the battles in this campaign occurred in New Mexico.

You changed that back but you did not bother changing back the campaignbox or the several other articles connected to it. I will be changing it back.--Aj4444 (talk) 20:20, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Do not resort to personal attacks, or you will be blocked. Move warring is highly unproductive. Please respond to the discussion on the talk page.--Cúchullain t/c 20:40, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

What personal attacks, whoever changed it back did only half the job, which is why I say it was done lazy. When it comes to stupidity, I am sorry, you are a stupid fool if you think New Mexico Terrirory and Confederate Arizona were the same country.

You won't catch many flies with that kind of honey, my friend. Please look at the no personal attacks policy. Make one more personal attack and you will be blocked. Wikipedia policies are something you will have to learn to live with, or you won't be here long.--Cúchullain t/c 21:04, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Go ahead and block me idiot! You have personnaly attacked me too hypocrite. Also, I am not your friend.--Aj4444 (talk) 21:11, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:Fort Sumner Today-280.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Fort Sumner Today-280.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nyttend (talk) 22:02, 24 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

File:Point Du Conde, Gonghwa Island, 1871.jpg needs authorship information.

edit
Dear uploader:

The media file you uploaded as File:Point Du Conde, Gonghwa Island, 1871.jpg appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source), or if you did provide such information, it is confusing for others trying to make use of the image.

It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the media clearer.

Although some images may not need author information in obvious cases, (such where an applicable source is provided),authorship information aids users of the image, and helps ensure that appropriate credit is given (a requirement of some licenses).

  • If you created this media yourself, please consider explicitly including your user name, for which:{{subst:usernameexpand|Aj4444}} will produce an appropriate expansion,
    or use the {{own}} template.
  • If this is an old image, for which the authorship is unknown or impossible to determine, please indicate this on the file description page.
