Speedy deletion of 1661 Kowloon Group of Air Scouts edit

A tag has been placed on 1661 Kowloon Group of Air Scouts requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. CultureDrone (talk) 19:17, 14 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Welcome edit

I see nobody welcomed you a year ago. Welcome. I hope you will play a wider role on Scouting articles here. I suggest you look at the WikiProject Scouting pages and try to fit in with the ideas that have been broadly agreed there as well, of course, with the general guidelines and policies. I cut back your edits to Air Scouts to fit in with those ideas, guidelines and policies.

Air Scouts edit

Your inclusion of a great deal of material on Air Scouts in Hong Kong has been challenged now by two other editors. You should argue on the talk page why it should be included. You should not continue to add it back. --Bduke (Discussion) 00:21, 29 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Scout Association of Hong Kong edit

You start your recent set of edits to Scout Association of Hong Kong about Air Scouts with "(N.B. The history of the development of the Air Scouting Movement in Hong Kong is excerpted from the official confirmed minutes of the First Meeting of the Air Activity Committee (2007/2008), Programme Branch, Scout Association of Hong Kong held on 9 January2009. The Air Activity Committee is a policy-making committee oversees all Air Scouting activities in Hong Kong)". If this is taken from these minutes, it appears to be a copyright violation. Wikipedia only accepts direct copies of material that is open access. You need to write it in your own words. However, there is another problem. Are these minutes available? If not they can not be used as a source. I suggest that this material should be removed, but I want to know your views before doing so. --Bduke (Discussion) 09:21, 20 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I have reverted your addition of all this material to Air Scouts. It gives far too much weight to one country and is just a copy of the material in the HK Scouting article. The copyright problem should be sorted out there and then this material could be the basis of adding a much small section to Air Scouts. --Bduke (Discussion) 09:27, 20 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

The said materials removed.

Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, Airscoutmaster. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Citobun (talk) 07:49, 19 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
