Citations edit

Hi,

Just wanted to let you know that when using the {{sfn}} citation format, you will want to use this format: {{sfn|Source name goes here|Year goes here|p=Page number goes here}}. Hope this helps, GABgab 00:46, 31 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for April 10 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Shah (surname), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bahadur Shah. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Google Books edit

Just because you can't see something on Google Books doesn't mean others can't. Not being able to see a source is never a reason to remove it and, indeed, there isn't even a requirement that sources must be online. Please reinstate if it is still feasible to do so. - Sitush (talk) 18:23, 18 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi Airkeeper, I would like to support Sitush in this regard, I have reverted your edits on Terai and Raj Darbhanga pages to reinstate sourced content. Thanks - Ind akash (talk) 00:39, 19 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Nepali names edit

Where is your sourcing for things such as this? As I understand it, the Nepalese language derives from ancient Indic languages and so "surnames of Indian origin" is the correct category. Is this another example of you trying to "push" a Nepali agenda? - Sitush (talk) 13:33, 1 May 2017 (UTC) @Sitush:Reply

I added category on the basis of article content where there is mentioned that it belongs to Newar community. Indian origin would be absurd for the Newari-language because it is categorized as Tibeto Burman language. It is never an agenda.

Two further questions, then. Firstly, is the Newar claim always sourced (categories are not exempt from WP:V) and, secondly, why are you doing it for "Nepali-language names", especially when that is a subcategory of Category:Surnames of Nepalese origin? I think you are creating yet more problems. - Sitush (talk) 13:44, 1 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Sitush: OK then Newar claim would be checked. And Surnames of Nepali origin is showing all surnames of Nepali nationality while Nepali-language surnames show native Nepali (Khas) language speakers.

I've got big doubts about this. I think you're drifting into the realms of nationalism etc. Please note that the Pradhan article was full of baloney. I've had to remove a fair bit of it and of what remains much still requires verification. - Sitush (talk) 14:04, 1 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Sitush: Please check I cited Pradhan from a book by Dor Bista.

I have tentatively raised the whole issue at Wikipedia_talk:Noticeboard_for_India-related_topics#Origin_of_last_names. Please note that is intended to be an informal discussion. Any decision-making would have to be done via WP:CFD. - Sitush (talk) 14:32, 1 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
I've reverted you at Pradhan because you were citing a book published by Gyan (not reliable) and the other citation was gibberish. You'll probably find the templates mentioned at User:Sitush#Citations helpful. By the way, it is also not a good idea to do a very specific search using Google because it will almost always produce the result you want even though that may miss the nuances of a situation. - Sitush (talk) 14:39, 1 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Regarding Gaupalika page edit

The term Rural Municipality was coined for Gaupalika by the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development (Nepal) (Source: thehimalayantimes.com/nepal/gaunpalikas-called-rural-municipalities/. It is a reason it has been mentioned the same in the page too.

Some Momo for you edit

I can see you are doing a lot of contributions for Nepali pages. I really appreciate that.

Take some momos for that ;-)

Meanwhile, I'll like you to invite to work on Draft:List of Gaupalika and construction of every new Gaupalika page and editing wherever possible. Lemme have your thoughts on it :-) Bishal Shrestha (talk) 17:22, 8 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

User:Bishal Shrestha, I will be helping you as I can manage and prepare. Thank you for the Momo.

@Airkeeper: Great. This has list of all the gaupalika and details. I've included it in Draft:List of Gaupalika too. Bishal Shrestha (talk) 17:55, 8 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Airkeeper: You can use the source code of Thakre for creating new pages for Gaupalika. I might have done some justice creating the basic structure with the data that can be obtained from the PDF file linked above. Bishal Shrestha (talk) 12:55, 9 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Appealing unblock edit

Request reason:

I was blocked by User:RHaworth without any notice. I donot even know when and how I made mistake. If there were any, I should have been suggested at my talk page. Airkeeper (talk) 13:33, 15 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

I cannot speak for the blocking admin, so why you were blocked without a warning I cannot say. But you are blocked for disruptive editing: Specifically, posting a large number of incorrect speedy deletion tags on other users' talk pages. The delete rational you used is not a speedy deletion rationale, and talk pages are not customarily speedy-deleted except in the case of serious abuse, which did not apply to these pages.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 21:36, 15 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Don't bother answering. A review of the histories of the accounts make it very obvious that you are the same editor. The editor interactions are overwhelming, not just editing the same articles but the same content. You have the same idiosyncratic article creation habits and you are recreating your articles that were deleted under your Thapa Kazi999 account. Same talk page interactions, same oddities, same person.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:08, 15 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may request an unblock by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:08, 15 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

{{unblock|I do not know who is Thapa Kazi 9999. I am a Nepali history student and I didn't knew if ThapaKaji had same interest. I checked through all his contributions. I have created articles using some very reliable and good references while Thapa Kaji was ignorant who had no knowledge of sourcing things. He was also a great music lover while I'm not so. He was also a great literature lover while I have little interest in it. I was fond of creating present day politicians page while he didn't had such interest. He was always arguing about Gautam Buddha which was nearly out of my interest. I created Yagya Bahadur Thapa after Nepal Govt. declared him martyr. I saw the page was previously deleted and went on to brave such thing. I didn't knew creating previously deleted subject will bring me trouble. I created Nepal Idol which was also previously deleted. Now, I will never create previously deleted subject. I matched with him in history and ethnic topics only and which is due to the reason I am a socio-history student. It is not my fault that somebody likes history like me. This is absolute unjust. I appeal for unblock. Airkeeper (talk) 03:07, 16 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Kami (caste) edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Kami (caste) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read!
